Stampin’ Up! Artful Amaryllis Sneak Peek Double-Easel Thanks for the SU Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop

Good morning everyone! Welcome to this month’s Fun Folds Blog Hop for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!  We’ve got a talented line-up and…I think you’re going to like what you see!  This is a once-a-month hop and…all our cards will be fun folds!!  How cool is that?!?

I love easel cards – and this Double-Easel was really fun to decorate with flowers from the gorgeous new Artful Amaryllis bundle – coming to you soon on 4 Sept in the new Sept-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog!  And – I brought in some country flair with the Country Lace DSP – available now!  Take a look-see:

I pulled some elements from the Festive Friday Inspo List to add to this one, too!  Like…yellow, black, white, neutral embellishments, easel card and…chalkboard!

I did a quick video on how to make this one, which is posted on Instagram.  You can see it on YouTube right here!

Easels all pretty much start the same way.  For this one, I have a Basic Black card base and the easel is Daffodil Delight cardstock.

I scored the 5 1/4″ x 9 1/4″ piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock at 4″ and again at 6 5/8″.  I folded the 4″ score as a valley and the 6 5/8″ as a mountain.

Using the large floral from the Artful Amaryllis set, I stamped all over a Basic Black panel in Whisper White ink.  That ink is thick – and it takes a minute to dry – so when it was ready – I adhered it to the large panel of the easel using Liquid Glue.

I adhered a piece of Misty Moonlight paper from the Country Lace DSP (which is not only available to you right now – it’s ON SALE thru 31 August 2024.  Save 15%!!) to the front-most panel of the easel using Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Artful Amaryllis flower three times in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I used the second-step fill images in the set to add Granny Apple Green to the stems/leaves and Daffodil Delight to the flowers.  Yes – I google’d Amaryllis and they DO come in yellow! 🙂

I cut out the flowers using the die in the bundled die set and then used Liquid Glue on the bottom portion of the die cuts to adhere them to the front easel.

I tied a simple bow from two lengths of white Basic White Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic Black cardstock, I stamped the Artful Amaryllis sentiment in Versamark Ink.

I sprinkled it with white Embossing Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.

When the embossing powder was cool, I cut it out with the smallest of the Countryside Corners dies.  Then I stamped the little label with the Whisper White ink and the Artful Amaryllis flower.

I used double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment over the bow.

Finally, I added white Neutrals Adhesive-backed Sequins – and the card front (aka – the easel!) was done!

For the inside, I stamped a second Artful Amaryllis sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink on a Basic White panel.  Then I stamped the flower in the corner in Tuxedo Black, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight. I added a few white sequins here, too!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Basic Black card base.  Then, using Liquid Glue on the back of the largest section of the easel, I adhered the easel to the Basic Black card base…

…and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Artful Amaryllis on the front…

…and more of the Country Lace DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh my, y’all!  I confess – the Artful Amaryllis bundle triggered my “but I have SO many flower sets” response and I ALMOST didn’t buy it.  I am SOOOO glad that I ignored my reaction and added this one to my tool box.  The two-step images are really easy to line up and get perfect images!  And – the fact that there’s no fussy cutting is a wunnermus bonus.  There are additional dies in the set that will build 3-D flowers – I haven’t even scratched the surface of what this bundle will do!  And – I love the elegant pop of color against the “denim” look of the Country Lace DSP (hope you’re grabbing a couple more packs of this paper while it’s on sale!!).

  6. Karen Finkle

I think I messed up on my comment so this might be a duplicate but just in case it’s not, I said your card took me to the Netherlands to Gerard’s amaryllis production in his greenhouses. Have you ever watched Jackie Bultje’s videos on how they’re grown, harvested and protected in the greenhouse? Fascinating!

    • stampsnlingers

I have NOT seen that video – but it sounds amazing! Thank you for the kind words! 🙂

  7. Debbie Mageed

Wow, Mary, this easel card is wonderful! I love that you used this stamp set for a card other than a holiday card, which makes it very versatile. AND I haven’t stamped images instead of using DSP in ages. Love the softness of it on your card. Thanks for joining the blog hop this month.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Debbie! Appreciate the kind words! 🙂

  8. Mary, your easel card is beautiful! I love the black panel stamped in white! Perfect with the amaryllis!

    • stampsnlingers

Thank you so much, Kathi – that bundle surprised me. I love it! 🙂
