Stampin’ Up! Mediterranean Citrus Blooms Hello Card

Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day, y’all!  Hope your week is going well! We’re just here doing all the things!  Re-arranging my craft room is on my To-Do List this week – got some new tool cabinets (aka craft cabinets coming) and want to be set up and ready for our Online Decorative Trees class in September! 🙂

My card for today goes back into the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog and pulls the gorgeous Mediterranean Blooms DSP – one of my faves ever (AND on sale this month for 15% Off!!).  And I added a sentiment and some foliage from the coordinating Citrus Blooms stamp set and bundled dies.  Take a look-see:

Stampin' Up! Mediterranean Citrus Blooms Hello Card - Stamps-N-Lingers

I was inspired to use this beautiful paper thanks to the theme challenge at The Paper Players this week!

I did a quick video on how to make this one, which is posted on Instagram.  You can see it on YouTube right here!

I started by using the large frame die from Citrus Blooms to cut out a beautiful lemon image right from the Mediterranean Blooms DSP.

Using my Paper Trimmer – I cut the die cut into 1 1/4″ wide strips.  Note: the final cut is a SMIDGE over 1 1/4″ wide – but…it’s not something you can even see!

I used a straight edge for the left side of the die cuts – and adhered them to the front of my Night of Navy card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Note: be sure to put the design back the way it’s SUPPOSED to go. Ask me how I know. 🤷‍♀️

Using the second-from-largest Stylish Shapes circle die, I cut a circle from Wood Texture Specialty Paper and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Citrus Blooms sentiment in Night of Navy ink.  Then I cut it out with a Stylish Shapes banner die and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I used the three smaller detailed leaf dies to cut out three leaves – one each in Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green and Garden Green.  I adhered them to the sentiment with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the Citrus Blooms flower in Daffodil Delight on a piece of Basic White cardstock.  Using the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends I colored it – then cut it with its coordinating Citrus Blooms die.

I adhered the flower with a Stampin’ Dimensional to cover the stems of the leaves.

I added five Lemon Lime Twist gems from the Tinsel Gems Four Pack and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the geometric image from Citrus Blooms in Night of Navy in two corners of a Basic White panel.  Then I added the flower in Daffodil Delight – adding some more coloring to them with the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Night of Navy card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Citrus Blooms images on the front…

…and more of the Mediterranean Blooms DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh my goodness – how gorgeous is that Mediterranean Blooms DSP!?  I made a second version – with oranges…(and FIXED my oopsie…)

…and simply can’t decide which one I like better!  What about you!?  They both get a little extra punch with a sentiment and foliage from the coordinating Citrus Blooms bundle.  Perfect!

CHECKOUT THIS AWESOME FUNDRAISER!

The Grand Chapter of Iowa Order of the Eastern Star is holding a fundraiser for Retrieving Freedom – a organization that trains Service dogs for Veterans and Autistic children!

You can lend your support to this great organization – AND maybe win this beautiful quilt – designed by my friend and teammate Julie Johnston…

…by purchasing raffle tickets!

Here’s the deets:

–  Tickets are $1 each and you can purchase as many as you wish

–  The quilt measures about 61″ x 73″

– The quilt was “commissioned” by the Grand Chapter of Iowa Order of the Eastern Star

–  Julie designed the quilt using symbols and colors chosen by the Worthy Grand Matron, Mary Reicks, and Worthy Grand Patron Joe Ried

–  One of the symbols is songbirds, so Julie took photos of 14 Iowa songbirds, printed them on fabric, and wove them into the design. There are 14 different bird photos – one in each square of the quilt!
–  The other major symbol is bicycles and fabric incorporating them is part of the field of the quilt

If you’d like to purchase tickets to support this great cause – AND maybe win that quilt! – please send Julie an e-mail at: jg441157j5x@natel.net

Mom.  Please.  A little privacy while I try to get the squeaker outta this donut-with-ears.

Why does a donut NEED ears, anyway!?

Such pretty cards Mary! Love that paper, the fruit images are beautiful! 🙂 And yeah…why would a donut need silly ears and a squeaker??

    • stampsnlingers

Exactly – it makes no sense at all! Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂

  2. Kate

    OR a squeaker…

    Lovely lemons!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Mom! Yep – none of MY donuts ever have squeakers. OR ears, for that matter! LOL!

  3. Mary, these cards are fabulous! I love the way you die cut the panel and then made the different panels. Genius! I love this set and the color combo! So happy you joined my challenge at The Paper Players this week!

Mary, such a simple thing – cutting the DSP into panels – yet so effective! A great reminder that simple things can really elevate a design. Thank you for sharing with us at The Paper Players.
