Good morning and happy Friday AND welcome to another Creative Creases Challenge! That’s our every-other-Friday challenge that is ALWAYS all about fun-folds! How…fun?!…is that!? I hope you’ll take a gander at my card – then click the link to the challenge to see what the other Design Team members have up their sleeves this week. And then…get to the craft table and…share your fun fold project with us! 🙂
Mine for this week is a Diamond Flip Fold – I saw one that Rachel Tessman did and…made one of my own! Mine uses the Autumn Leaves stamp set and coordinating dies – plus some Fall-flavored Thoughtful Wishes DSP! Take a look-see:
You’ll see this card – along with the other Design Team members’ cards – at this week’s Creative Creases Challenge! I hope you’ll come and join us!
I started with a 4 1/4″ x 10 7/8″ piece of Wild Wheat cardstock that I scored at 5 1/2″ and 8 3/4″. On the short end nearest the 8 3/4″ score line, I marked the middle of the panel – that’s at 2 1/8″. Then, using my Paper Trimmer, I cut from the mark to the score line on each edge – cutting down to a triangle on that end.
Then I folded the card at the 5 1/2″ mark – as a valley – and at the 8 3/4″ mark in the opposite direction.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ panel of Cajun Craze cardstock on the inside panel. On the outside edge, I used Liquid Glue to adhere a 2″ x 4″ piece of the Thoughtful Journey DSP.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a small sentiment from Autumn Leaves in Lost Lagoon ink. In the corner, I stamped the large leaf in stamped-off-once Cajun Craze ink. Then I stamped the veins in full-strength Cajun Craze.
I adhered the panel to the back mat with Liquid Glue – keeping an even reveal all the way around.
I matted two more 3″ x 4″ pieces of the Thoughtful Journey DSP on Cajun Craze mats. One went on the inside left panel…
…and the other on the front of the card base.
For the diamond panel – I matted a piece of Thoughtful Journey DSP on Cajun Craze cardstock and then adhered the matted square to a 3″ x 3″ piece of Wild Wheat cardstock.
Using Liquid Glue on the triangle portion of the card base, I adhered the square (but tipped up as a diamond!) to the card base. Note: Be sure that the diamond is straight up-and-down and lines up just right on the triangle! 🙂
I used the large leaf die in Autumn Leaves to cut a leaf from the Thoughtful Journey DSP. Using a second die, I cut out a Cajun Craze “vein” die cut and adhered it to the leaf with Liquid Glue.
Keeping my Stampin’ Dimensionals towards the center of the leaf, I adhered the leaf to the diamond panel.
With the dies in the Autumn Leaves, I cut out several Lost Lagoon leaves – three larger and two smaller. I also cut a couple of small “veins” from coppery Textured Metallic Specialty Paper. They’ll be “twigs”! 🙂
Using Liquid Glue, I tucked the leaves under the large leaf.
On a strip of Basic White, I stamped the Autumn Leaves sentiment in Lost Lagoon and adhered it to the card front with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals and a little Liquid Glue.
I added some coppery Adhesive-backed Metallic Gems on the front – and then used the Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Write Marker to add little doodle-dots on the inside leaf and…the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Autumn Leaves stamp – with doodle-dots – on the front…
…and more Thoughtful Journey DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Oh – I am loving this fun fold, aren’t you!? So fun with the flip-y diamond on the front. And the Thoughtful Journey 6″ x 6″ DSP is perfect to pair up with the gorgeous Autumn Leaves stamp set and coordinating dies! I love that set so much!
