Stampin’ Up! Everyday Changing Leaves Book Fold Corner Easel for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Fun Fold. Whoohoo!!  Be sure to check out everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

I love easel cards – and I love book fold cards – so…I combined them to make one of my fave fun folds – a Book Fold Corner Easel!  Then I decorated it with some new Online Exclusives – the Changing Leaves bundle, Everyday Greetings (for the birthday sentiment) and…a smidge of Iconic Celebrations 6″ x 6″ DSP! .  Take a look-see:

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Wild Wheat cardstock and used my Paper Trimmer to score it at 5 1/2″ and again at 6 3/4″.  Then I turned it and scored on the diagonal as shown below.

I folded the 5 1/2” score line as a “mountain” and at the 6 3/4” score in the opposite direction.  Topographically speaking, that would be a “valley” fold!  The diagonal fold is a “mountain”.

Using Liquid Glue between the 5 1/2” and 6 3/4” score lines, I adhered the front of the card base to the back – just in that 1 1/4” area. This made the “book” or “side” fold.

I matted a piece of plaid paper from Iconic Celebrations 6″ x 6″ DSP on a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock and adhered it to the narrow book fold panel on the front.

Next, I embossed a square of Basic White cardstock in the Changing Leaves Embossing Folder.  Then I put the large leaf die from the Changing Leaves die set into the embossing folder – with a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock and ran it thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.  Note: with a Hybrid Embossing Folder – you’ll use the sandwich for 3D Embossing Folders, with the gray Specialty Plate.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the three Pecan Pie embossed and die cut leaves that resulted onto the embossed Basic White panel using Liquid Glue.  I let them run off the edge of the panel and then used Paper Snips to cut off the excess.

Then I matted the panel on Pecan Pie cardstock.

I used Stampin’ Seal + to adhere a loop-d-doo of Pecan Pie 3/8″ Center-Stripe Ribbon.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped a word sentiment from Everyday Greetings set in Wild Wheat and cut it out with the circle die from the Changing Leaves die set.  I popped it onto the card front with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut out a Wild Wheat Changing Leaves sprig and adhered it – tucked under the circle – with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the second Everyday Greetings word in Pecan Pie and cut it out with Paper Snips – then adhered it with Liquid Glue and a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Using Liquid Glue just on the bottom “triangle” – I adhered the card front to it to make the easel.

I added five Pecan Pie Ribboned Adhesive-backed Dots and the card front was done.

For the inside, I stamped a second Everyday Greetings sentiment in Wild Wheat on a piece of Basic White.  In the corner, I stamped a Pecan Pie Changing Leaves leaf.  I matted the panel to a Pecan Pie mat and into the inside of the card base.

I used Paper Snips to fussy cut one of the leaves from the embossed Pecan Pie cardstock (from cutting the leaves for the front) and adhered another Wild Wheat die cut sprig to it.  Then I adhered it to the inside panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals as an easel stop, added another Pecan Pie Ribboned Adhesive-backed Dot – and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Pecan Pie Changing Leaves leaf on the front…

…and more of the Iconic Celebrations 6″ x6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the incredible versatility of the Changing Leaves bundle – with the right colors and sentiments – it can be for any occasion!  And the stunning die cut AND embossed (all at the same time!) leaves are…wunnermus!  I also love the Iconic Celebrations 6″ x 6″ DSP – it really is for ALL the occasions!  And you can see how easy the Book Fold Corner Easel card is – it combines TWO fun folds to make on spectacular display piece!
