Stampin’ Up! Deckled Attention Shoppers Sneak Peek Birthday Card With Video

Happy Sunday, y’all!  Hope your weekend is going well!  We had our first hummingbird of the season – he buzzed around me for 2 or 3 minutes the other day while I was filling the water trough.  I didn’t dare wiggle for fear of scaring him off – or hitting him with the water from the hose!  He darned near landed on my leg, though!  I DID get the message – it was pretty strongly worded…WE’RE BACK!!  WHERE THE HECK IS THE FEEDER?!?  I remedied that as soon as I got back to the house! My bad, little guy. 🤷‍♀️

My card today is another Sneak Peek – a look at the new 2024-2026 In Colors and the new Attention Shoppers stamp set!  It’s also a fun exercise in paper piecing – and ended up being a really pretty birthday card.  Take a look-see:

The cake was a result of the Global Design Project theme challenge this week.

And the interesting layout is from the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.

I started by stacking up 4 sheets of the new 2024-2026 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP – two each in Peach Pie and Pretty In Pink.  Then I used the 4th-from-Largest Deckled Circle die to cut out 4 half-rounds.  By stacking them and cutting them together – each round was the same size – which I wanted for my card front layout!

I adhered the half-circles to the Basic White card front with Liquid Glue – spacing them evenly.  When they were all on, I used Paper Snips to trim the excess and then matted the panel on Daffodil Delight cardstock for the card front.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere some Pretty in Pink 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon (available soon in the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog!) to the card front.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the cake image from Attention Shoppers in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I stamped the image two more times on Pretty In Pink and Peach Pie 2024-2026 In Color DSP.

I cut out the cake on Basic White using the 4th-from-Smallest Deckled Circle die.

Using Paper Snips, I cut out the cake (no candles!) from the Pretty In Pink image and the two icing ribbons from the Peach Pie image.  I edged them with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and adhered them to the Deckled Circle image with Liquid Glue.  Then I popped the circle onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the Attention Shoppers sentiment in Tuxedo Black on a strip of Basic White and snipped a banner in the end.  Then I adhered it to a Daffodil Delight mat and snipped the banner in the end of that as well.

I adhered the matted sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and a little Liquid Glue.

I used my Light Peach Pie Stampin’ Blend (this will be available on 1 May, too – and there’s a Blends pack for ALL the new In Colors – whoo-hoo!) to color a length of white Baker’s Twine.  Then I tied a simple bow with it and adhered it to the card front with a scrunched up Glue Dot.

I added some new Pretty In Pink 2024-2026 Resin Dots and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Attention Shoppers sentiment in Tuxedo Black on a Basic White panel. I added the shopping bags images in the corner in Tuxedo Black and did some paper piecing using more of the 2024-2026 In Colors DSP.  I colored the tissue with my Light Pretty In Pink Stampin’ Blend and the handles with the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker.

Then I added another Pretty In Pink Resin Dot.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into my Peach Pie card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Attention Shoppers bag – colored with my Light Peach Pie and Light Pretty In Pink Stampin’ Blends – on the front…

…and more of the 2024-2026 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Attention Shoppers set (there’s a bundled die set, too!!) is pretty darned fun – although you might overlook it on your first couple of passes thru the catalog!  Take a second or third look and then…pick it up!  It’s got great sentiments – and darling images.  And the die set will cut out a cool shopping cart! 🙂

And – how much are you already loving the new color family DSP designs!?  I think they’re the best in a long time!

I hope you like!

And – if you CAN’T wait till 1 May – hit me up!  I can help you get your hands on these goodies right now!

Finn Fan Fix

It’s time to start waking up the fountain in the garden for the summer.

It required some strict inspection and supervision.

Water coming in – check.  Small taste check…

Lower tub filling and covering water pump – check.

Sometimes, if you put your giant paw on the hose and then lift it up too fast – it causes the hose to sling water all around and then you scare yourself!

Good thing someone was there to put it back!
