Stampin’ Up! Country Birdhouse Sneak Peek Birthday Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I’ve got a sneak peek of some NEW goodies – the Country Birdhouse bundle and coordinating Country Lace DSP (get these on 1 May!) – and a fond farewell to and old friend – the retiring Scalloped Contours die set – for today’s birthday card.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our sketch for the hop!

The new Country Lace DSP – coming on 1 May in the new 2024-2025 Annual Catalog – is truly gorgeous…

…and it plays a HUGE roll in this card!

I adhered a full size piece of the Country Lace DSP to the front of my Smoky Slate card base using Liquid Glue.

I cut out two more designs from the DSP using the next-to-largest Scalloped Contours rectangle die.  The Misty Moonlight die cut is adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the “chain hangar” on the Petal Pink die cut in Misty Moonlight ink and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of the Country Lace DSP, I stamped the big birdhouse image from the set in Misty Moonlight ink and cut it out with its die in the bundled Country Birdhouse die set.  I used the little circle die in the set to cut the bird-hole from the house.

On a small piece of Basic White, I stamped the little tweeter in Misty Moonlight ink.  I colored the image with my Light Petal Pink and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.  Using my Light Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blend – I colored all around the bird.

Then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the bird behind the die cut birdhouse – centering him in that bird-hole!

I stamped the Country Birdhouse sentiment in Misty Moonlight at the bottom of the birdhouse.  Then I colored that section with a Pecan Pie Watercolor Pencil.

I used the dies in the set to cut out a “roof” and the “scallops” from two more pieces of Country Lace DSP.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the scallops to the birdhouse.  I added the roof with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered the assembled house to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped some flowers in Misty Moonlight on Basic White cardstock and cut them out with their matching dies in the Country Birdhouse die set.  I colored them with Petal Pink, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.

Using Liquid Glue I adhered the larger flowers to the birdhouse.  The smaller ones are adhered with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added small Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels to the middles of the small flowers.

A small simple bow – tied with two strands of Linen Thread – attached at the eave of the birdhouse with a Glue Dot finished off the card front.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped a second Country Birdhouse sentiment in Misty Moonlight.  I added a small flower – in Misty Moonlight and Daffodil Delight – complete with a tiny Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Misty Moonlight mat and into the Smoky Slate card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got a Country Birdhouse flower on the front…

…and more of the Country Lace DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Country Birdhouse bundle is part of the amazeballs Country Woods Suite in the new Annual Catalog – and it is a perfect complement to the Country Lace DSP (as well as to the Country Flowers bundle and Country Woods DSP!).  Look at this bundle…

I’ve barely even scratched the surface of all the fun to be had with the stamped images and sentiments AND all the cool dies! You’re going to LOVE it! And – do NOT miss the retiring-soon Scalloped Contours die set, y’all – this has been a real workhorse and…I’m going to MISS it!!
