Stampin’ Up! Quiet Reflection Sneak Peek Sympathy Card

Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day! I hope your week is going well!

Now – you’re likely going to wonder what’s going on in my head – but..I can assure you – nothing weird.  It’s total happenstance that I’ve made ANOTHER sympathy card for you!  It turns out that there are several great new sets in the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini catalog that have sympathy sentiments and perfect images.  My fave though – and one that will remain in my stash forever! – is the Quiet Reflection set.  It.  Is.  Stunning.  And I loved a sample from the catalog so…take a look-see:

Stampin' Up! Quiet Reflection Sneak Peek Sympathy Card - Stamps-N-Lingers

I started by using a Blending Brush and one of the Artistic Mix Masks to added a design in Lost Lagoon ink to a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock.

Next up, I stamped a sentiment from Quiet Reflection several times – also in Lost Lagoon.

I matted the panel on Mossy Meadow and again on Petal Pink cardstock to make the card front.

I cut out the largest Tailor Made Tag tag from Very Vanilla cardstock.

Using Blending Brushes to color the stamp directly, I added Mossy Meadow to the top of one of the Quiet Reflection stamps.  I added Pretty Peacock to the bottom part (the reflection) – and stamped the tag.

Y’all.  There are two images like this in the set – and they are PERFECTLY designed – and work especially well with the Blending Brush inking method.

And – do you see the sentiment that has earned this set a permanent spot on my stamp shelf?  If you picked “The Friendship of a Pet is one of Life’s Greatest Gifts” then…you’d be spot on! I’ve been hoping for a solemn pet-sympathy sentiment for a long time and – here it is!! Yep – even when it retires, this set will not be on my Sale Shelf.

Using the little die in the Tailor Made Tag set, I cut a hole-reinforcer from Mossy Meadow cardstock and used a little Liquid Glue to adhere it to the top of the tag.

Then I ran a length of new Gold 1/8″ Faux Leather Trim thru the hole.  This is the prettiest trim and it’s part of the Nature’s Sweetness Suite in the new catalog!

I tore an angled end in the tag and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals

On a strip of Petal Pink, I stamped a very lovely sentiment from Quiet Reflection in Mossy Meadow.  Then I snipped banner ends and used Liquid Glue and a couple of Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment.

I added some gold Neutrals Adhesive-backed Sequins and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used the Blending Brushes again to ink the second Quiet Reflection image in Mossy Meadow and Pretty Peacock, then I stamped it on Very Vanilla.  I stamped a second sentiment over the top in Mossy Meadow and added some more of the gold sequins.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to Mossy Meadow and Petal Pink mats and then into my Lost Lagoon card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a Quiet Reflection image on the front…

…and some Artistic Mix masking in Lost Lagoon ink on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  My goodness – this is a set that you might miss – but..I hope that you won’t.  Go back and look on page 63 and then turn down the corner of the page so that you’ll remember to add Quiet Reflection to your gotta-order-it-first-thing-on-4 Jan list!  You’re going to WANT this one on your shelf, y’all!

Such a pretty card! The colors are perfect, love the tag too! Finn was just helping to get the very last scrap out before returning it to your room…I’m sure of that. 😉

    Mary,
This is a beautiful card. This stamp set went right by me. Thanks so much for pointing it out (as you often do). The sentiments are he best I’ve seen. Definitely on my next order.

Jsut added this stamp set and faux leather trim to my order for tomorrow. I love this card! TFS. (Am curious and do want to ask about your trash bin being in the yard! I’m sure Finn is trying to figure out how to get it back in for you!)

    • stampsnlingers

Ooooh – I’m so glad that you’re getting this one! It is SOO good! Thank you so much, Susan! The story: we’d walked up to put the trash out – and I had too much in the garbage bag so… I just carried the trash basket. On the way back – he was very interested in the basket so…I let him try to carry it. His eyes were bigger than his jaws! 🙂

  4. Your card is just lovely, Mary! Love all of the details!

Looks like Finn was helping with chores! 🙂

Well, now you are gonna’ make me ask!! What’s up with the trash bin?? You bet that stamp set will be the 1st one that I order. All the sayings are very good & thoughtful…..things I would like to say on a card that I would need to make for condolences!! Absolutely agree on the saying “pets are a gift.”
