Good morning on the first day of December! I hope your week has been a good one! Did you catch that first sentence? It is the FIRST day of December. Which means…there are 24 days until Christmas! Does that strike fear in your heart? Or…have you been “ready for Christmas” since July?! I’m somewhere in between – gotta wrap/pack/mail and then I’ll be ready to concentrate on the things that stay here in GA!
Or. We can all just escape to a villa on the Hills of Tuscany!
Yep – I worked on that line all day long! 😂😂😂
My card today is a sneak peek of the new Hills of Tuscany and some gorgeous Perennial Lavender DSP – BOTH coming soon in the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog! And – I made a faintly Roman arch using the Garden Meadow Dies – available now in the Online Exclusives! Take a look-see:
The layout for this one was inspired by the sketch over at The Paper Players.
I started with a card-front size piece of plaid paper from the new Perennial Lavender DSP (available to customers on 4 Jan 2024) and a second strip that I adhered with Liquid Glue across the first piece on a diagonal.
Using my Paper Trimmer, I trimmed the excess paper – bringing the card front back to its final size of 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.
I used the large arch die in the Garden Meadow Dies, to cut right from the middle of the panel.
I set the card front on top of a 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and used a pencil to lightly trace the arched opening onto the Very Vanilla cardstock.
I pulled the Very Vanilla panel out and – using a lot of the stamps in the new Hills of Tuscany set, created my idyllic Italian villa! You can make your own scene – but, here’s what I did!
– Stamped-off-once Mossy Meadow for the large hill image.
– Mossy Meadow for the smaller hill and the “bushes” images.
– Old Olive for all the trees.
– Crumb Cake for the house.
– Copper Clay for the roof.
– Copper Clay for the “flowers” in the grass.
– Crushed Curry for the Tuscan sun!
– Stamped-off-TWICE Balmy Blue for the sky.
I erased the pencil line and used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Old Olive mat.
Then, using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the “frame” over the top of the image.
I stamped a sentiment from Hills of Tuscany in Copper Clay ink on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out with the smallest Stylish Shapes label die.
Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the sentiment to the card front.
I adhered a little Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine bow with a dab of Liquid Glue and three birds from the Adhesive-backed Dragonflies & Birds pack and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped another Italian scene on a Very Vanilla panel.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Old Olive mat and then into my Copper Clay card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another view of Tuscany – or…Abruzzo!…on the front…
…and more Perennial Lavender DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Can you just smell the tomato sauce simmering? I love this Hills of Tuscany set – it’s Italy on cardstock (and WAY cheaper than a flight, I promise)! And – the Perennial Lavender DSP is ALREADY on your “gotta have it” list for 4 January, right!? I know it is! Don’t miss the Garden Meadow Dies (available right now in the Online Exclusives) – that big die cut sure looks like a Roman arch to me!
I hope you like!
And – if you’d like to pick these new goodies up in December – folks who join after 5 December can select from the new catalog to fill their Starter Kit! YEAH! Let me know if that’s something you’d like to look into!

Finn Fan Fix
Most mornings…I stagger out of bed, open the kennel and head to the kitchen.
Dog goes out.
Dog comes in.
Usually. SOMEtimes I have to go holler for him. But – usually…he’s by the back door when my coffee is done.
On Sundays, sometimes, I climb back in the bed with my coffee to watch a little tv. And maybe…rest my eyes a little more. 🤷♀️
I know. Lazy waste-a-way-the-day!
But… my dog is ever supportive.
He eats his little bone pieces – and his Joint Supplement (getting older isn’t for sissies of ANY species!) and…
….goes back to bed with the Mom.
Gotta love a dogg-o who wants to sleep and be lazy as much as I do! 🙂

Such a pretty card! Love the beautiful Italian scene…looks like it’s right out of one of those house videos. 😉 Yep, having a dog that doesn’t mind being lazy with you is the best! 🙂
Right!? I can almost hear the running commentary! Thank you so much, Amy! 🙂
I don’t think there is anything lazy about you!
Love this card. Probably wouldn’t have been interested just looking in the catty. However! Sorry I missed the ‘live’ yesterday, but just watched it. Goes to show the value of videos, samples of how to use product.
Thank you for that vote of confidence, my friend! Yes – it’s one that you need to play with – I hope folks won’t “fly over” it! 🙂
Yes, I’d like to escape with you to this little villa and what I’m sure is a vineyard. Abruzzi/Abruzzo, Tuscany/Toscana…anywhere in Italy except for Rome please and thank you! Speaking of bone pieces for Finn, his cookies might be in pieces when he receives them. The postal person tossed the package across the room, into a big bin. I hope he didn’t see the horror on my face because I had said there was nothing fragile inside…lol! Package should arrive Sat. Hope the ice pack stays frozen!
LOL – sounds about right – just sling it across the room!! 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️. I’m sure he’ll love them whole – in pieces – howeever they arrive! Thank you in advance! Meet you in Abruzzo! 🙂
Mary, the first thing I thought of when I saw your card this morning was Tuscany – and low and behold, it turns out that’s the name of your stamp set! It brought back all kinds of warm memories – especially needed in the dead of winter! Thank you for sharing it with us at The Paper Players. And I can attest to the old bones thing that Finn is experiencing.
Xoxo, Fran
Thank you so much, Fran – I do love Italy! We’re going back there next Spring! Whoo-hoo!! Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
This card is absolutely breathtaking! Enter it in as many challenges as you can cuz it’s a WINNER!
Awww – thank you so much, Judi! 🙂
Mary,
I love this card! Can’t wait to order this set.
It is STUNNING! And I can’t wait for you to get it! Thanks! 🙂
Such a idyllic scene!
Thanks, Kylie! 🙂
