Stampin’ Up! Notes of Nature Lovely & Sweet Sneak Peek Card with Video

Good morning and happy Friday!  Another weekend – and then…next week is Thanksgiving!! I did most of my shopping on Wednesday.  I think.  Hope??

So – I was going to TRY to not use goodies from the new January – April 2024 Mini Catalog until…at least…December.  Cuz it felt sorta mean.  “Hey y’all…Look at these amazeballs new things but…nope – you can’t have it until JANUARY!”

But then I realized it would be mean and selfish to NOT share right now!  Cuz there IS a way you can get them in December!  More on that later!!

The very instant that I saw the Nature’s Sweetness Suite, I had to have it.  HAD.  TO.  HAVE.  IT.  And had to use it.  NOW!

And so I did.  I used the entire Suite – Notes of Nature and Lovely & Sweet bundles and the Nature’s Sweetness Specialty DSP, plus the new trim and embellishments to make a card for a friend!  Take a look-see:

I know.  Soooo pretty!!

The layout was inspired by the Sketch Saturday sketch challenge. Turn your head side-ways….there it is!

I took some inspiration from the samples in the new catalog – those Stampin’ Up! artists are just the best!

To start, I used the splatter image in Notes of Nature to stamp all over the front of a Thick Very Vanilla card base in Pecan Pie – both full-strength and stamped-off-once.

I took a piece of the Natures’ Sweetness Specialty DSP…

…and with the cool edge die from Notes of Nature…

…against one long edge – ran it thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.  Using the perforation that the die cuts into the paper, I tore off the edge.

Then I cut the paper in to four equal 1 1/4″ wide strips and adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue, deliberately making them uneven and a little crooked.

I cut the next-to-largest Stylish Shapes circle from a piece of the Pecan Pie Nature’s Sweetness DSP and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

Then it was time to cut out foliage, glorious foliage!

Using the Notes of Nature bundle:

– I stamped the leaves from the set in Mossy Meadow twice on Very Vanilla and cut them out with their matching die.  They’re colored with Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.

– I cut two large leaves from Pecan Pie cardstock.

– I cut out three medium leaves from Mossy Meadow cardstock.

– I cut out five small leaves from Old Olive cardstock.

Using Liquid Glue – I arranged the leaves and adhered them to the card front.

I added a couple of short little bits of Stampin’ Seal + between the leaf clusters and used it to adhere a loop-de-loop of the new Gold 1/8″ Faux Leather Trim (part of the suite and available in January!!).

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the sentiment from Lovely & Sweet in Mossy Meadow ink and cut it out with the label die in the bundled Lovely & Sweet die set.  Note:  a Google search revealed that the final plant in the set – the largest image – is a sweet Almond!  Inquiring minds…. 😎😎

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the sentiment over the leather trim.

I added some new Adhesive-backed Cork Rounds (these wunnermus beauties are the final piece in the suite and are…perfect!) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I made a collage in the corner of a Very Vanilla panel.

– I stamped the Field Notes image from Notes of Nature in stamped-off-once Pecan Pie.

– I stamped the smaller Field, Lawn and Garden image from Lovely & Sweet in stamped-off-once Pecan Pie.

– I stamped the baby’s breath (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!) from Notes of Nature twice in stamped-off-once Mossy Meadow.

– Finally, I stamped the splatters from Notes of Nature a couple times in stamped-off once Pecan Pie.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pecan Pie mat and into the Thick Very Vanilla card base and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the same collage-y stamping that I’d done on the inner liner on the front…

…and some more of the Nature’s Sweetness Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila and…OHHHH…EMMM….GEEE!!  I am head-over with this Nature’s Sweetness Suite (say that a couple time fast!).  There’s not one thing in the Notes of Nature or the Lovely & Sweet bundles, or a single design in the Nature’s Sweetness Specialty DSP, that I don’t like.  And the trim and embellishments are just perfect.  I can’t WAIT for you to be able to get it for yourself!

Finn Fan Fix

“We” had pizza the other night!

Four little mini pizzas! Yum!

Finn ALSO had pizza.

Well – it was more “essence of pizza” but…HE was happy! 🙂

And yep – he’s lying down – holding the plate with his hand – and licking the essence off without ever getting up.

Poor abused pup.
