Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a fun color challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
The color challenge said – SCREAMED?? – GARDEN WALK 6″ X 6″ DSP!! And – never one to ignore a scream – I went with it and the Modern Garden punch bundle for today’s card! Take a look-see:
Here’s that screamin’ color palette we all worked with today!
And I used the sketch from the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge!
I started by using Liquid Glue to adhere some Garden Walk 6″ x 6″ DSP to a Calypso Coral mat to make the card front.
I cut three next-to-largest Stylish Shapes die cut squares from three different designs in the Garden Walk DSP.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the three die cuts to the card front.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Modern Garden sentiment in Calypso Coral ink. Then I punched it out with the bundled Modern Oval punch. Gotta love a punch, huh??
I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere a length of Calypso Coral 3/16″ Linen Trim in a loop-d-loop on the card front.
Then – don’t be scared! – I used my Paper Snips to cut out a bunch of flowers and leaves from a couple different designs of the Garden Walk DSP. Note: I did NOT leave a border on the images – I cut right at the edge of the printed images.
Using Liquid Glue – and Stampin’ Dimensionals – I adhered the flowers to the card front.
Take your time – cut a bunch of flowers and leaves and then…pile them up!
I added gold Blooming Pearls to the flower centers and a few out on the card front and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a few solid Modern Garden flowers in stamped-off-once Calypso Coral – and the detailed flower over the top of each in Poppy Parade. I added some small leaves in Mossy Meadow (this stamp has all three leaves on it) and the large flower center in stamped-off-once Wild Wheat ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Calypso Coral mat and into the Wild Wheat card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the same three flowers and leaves on the front…
…and more of the Garden Walk DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I love all the pretty flowers and sort of old-fashioned-y designs in the Garden Walk DSP, don’t you? And the colors all go together so nicely – I love the addition of the Wild Wheat! The stamped images from the Modern Garden stamp set are just plain fun – and cover much of the year and multiple occasions! The bundled Modern Oval punch is a very handy size – and one that will give you lots of sentiment flexibility for all your projects! 🙂
I hope you like!
