Stampin’ Up! Them Bag of Bones Bay Window Card with Video Tutorial

Good morning and Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day, y’all!  Hope the week is going well for you!  My big excitement this week is that I’ve got a tonneau cover and a truck bed slide tray ordered for my “new” ride – which is actually my OLD truck.  We decided to wait a bit before we replace the van – so I’ve been driving the older dually.  Which – even though it’s huge – has LESS room in it for things like…groceries – or anything else much.  Especially if the Man is with us! And – you can’t put stuff in the bed of the truck and then go to another store. else.  But – with a locking, hard cover – boom!!  I’m excited to get it to be a little more useful! 🎉🎉🎉

It’s the little things, y’all. 🤷‍♀️

My card today is a Bay Window fun fold – and it’s all dressed up for Halloween with some plaid Them Bones DSP and a dashing, and very French, charmer from the Bag of Bones bundle!  Take a look-see:

I played along with the Creative Creases Anything Goes With a Fun Fold challenge!

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock that I scored at 1/4″, 1 1/2″, 3 1/4″, 4 1/2″ and 5 1/2 along the long side.

I started folding at the 5 1/2″ score line – folding it as a mountain.  The next score line is a valley – then mountain – mountain – valley (this is the 1/4″ line).

Using Liquid Glue just between the 4 1/2″ and 5 1/2” score lines, I adhered the front of the card base to the back – just in that 1” area.

I cut my DSP panels from a few different designs in the Them Bones DSP and then used Liquid Glue to adhere all the DSP strips to Cajun Craze mats.  The final narrow strip – it’s on the far right side of the photo below – I adhered to a strip of Pumpkin Pie cardstock after matting it on Cajun Craze.  I think you can see that? 🙂

I used Liquid Glue to adhere all but that last matted strip to the panels of the card.

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals – I adhered that last stand-alone piece to the very far right of the card base – making sure to line up the edges of the strip with the edges of the card base.

That final – popped up – strip is the “stop” for the Bay Window – the little tab slides right underneath!

For the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Bag of Bones in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock. Using one of the – many! – bone images in the set, I stamped an arm – WITH a hand – in Smoky Slate ink.  I added the little rose in Tuxedo Black – and colored it with a Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cajun Craze mat and into the inside of the card base.

Then – time to decorate the front!! 🙂

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped several images from the Bag of Bones set in Smoky Slate to make a festive skeleton guy.

I added his beret-scarf-mustache in Tuxedo Black – this is one stamp – just take your time and get it all lined up!  Then I added the rose in Tuxedo Black (colored with the Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Marker) and a Cajun Craze heart.

Then I made myself STOP playing and cut it out with the fifth-from-smallest Deckled Circle Die. Y’all – depending on how you count – this could be the SIXTH smallest circle – it’s 3″, okay? 🤷‍♀️

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the circle to the middle panel of the card front.

I stamped a sentiment from Bag of Bones in Tuxedo Black on a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and cut it out with the smallest Stylish Shapes banner die.  I cut a Cajun Craze mat with the next size banner die and adhered them together with Liquid Glue.

Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the matted sentiment to the circle.

I tied a bow from two lengths of black Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

Using my Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin Blend – I colored a few Classic Matte Dots and adhered them to the circle – and…the card was done! 🙂

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the arm – and the rose! – on the front…

…and more Them Bones DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Okay – I love this Bay Window Fun Fold – it’s just so cool (and has the added benefit of being pretty darned easy – but you don’t have to tell anyone that! 😎😎😎) – and it’s perfect for showing off fun papers like Them Bones DSP!  And – my obsession with the Bag of Bones stamp set is…not easy to understand. You know I’m not a Halloween girl – but…it’s just too much fun!  It’s like playing paper dolls (yes – I did that!) but with stamps and ink!  What’s not to love?!

Cute card. Even though I am not into Halloween, this would be a cute one to send to little ones. Or, with the rose, even a big person. Good video too. And, I love that DSP.
Hope the locking cover gives you enough room to haul groceries, etc.!

Me, too, Julie! It’s not going to be my van 😢 but…it’ll do for a while! Thank you so much – I’m glad you liked the card! 🙂
