Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Balloons Alphabet A La Mode for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a bright, fun color challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

For today’s challenge – I went with the obvious DSP choice – the fun Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6″ DSP!  And – yep. I used the coordinating Beautiful Balloons stamp set and bundled dies.  Sometimes the obvious choice is the right way to go!  Take a look-see:

You can see I also used the fun Alphabet a La Mode dies to make my sentiment! 🙂

Here’s our color challenge.

And I selected some elements for the card from the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week! I went down the center (Patterned Paper – Free – Birthday) and up the diagonal from left – to – right (Alphabet – Free – Die Cuts).

I started by cutting a piece of Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6″ DSP with the seventh-from-the-largest Deckled Circle (remember you’ll be able to get this awesome set on 6 Sep when the new catalog goes live!).  I adhered it to the corner of a Bright & Beautiful DSP panel using Liquid Glue (only part of the circle is actually ON the panel).

I cut out a Basic White circle using the sixth-from-the-largest Deckled Circle (that means the next largest die) and then from that – I cut the three-balloon negative using the Beautiful Balloons die.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the white circle over the top of the DSP circle – and then used my Paper Trimmer to cut off the excess – revealing the corner of the panel!  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the whole panel to an Azure Afternoon mat for the card front.

I used the Alphabet a La Mode dies to cut the “HB2U” from Azure Afternoon cardstock and adhered them in place with Liquid Glue.

I cut a piece of the DSP that is mostly Bubble Bath – and used the long die in the Beautiful Balloons die set to cut the horizontal slits into the strip.  Then I matted it on Azure Afternoon and adhered it to the left side of the panel with Liquid Glue.

Using the dies in the Beautiful Balloon set, I cut out a bevy of stars and balloons.  I also cut some tiny stars – the Azure Afternoon and Blueberry Bushel ones are cardstock, not DSP. 🙂

I adhered all the stars and balloons to the card front – most with Liquid Glue – but some with Stampin’ Dimensionals! Can you tell which ones??

I added the rest of the tiny stars over by the sentiment – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the large balloon from Beautiful Balloons in Bubble Bath on a Basic White panel.  Then I added two sentiments in Azure Afternoon.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Azure Afternoon mat and into my Blueberry Bushel card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the balloon – and another sentiment (cuz….why not??) – on the front…

…and more of the fun Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  It’s almost literally a party on a card, isn’t it?!  The fun stars and balloons from the Beautiful Balloons bundle are pretty much the perfect choice for wishing someone a so happy birthday!  And the Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6″ DSP couldn’t be any more cheerful if you tried!  Alphabet a La Mode Dies – don’t forget about this set – those letters/numbers are such a good size for all your projects! 🙂
