Stampin’ Up! Beary Cute Merriest Trees Double Easel for the SU Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop

Good morning everyone and welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!  We’ve got a talented line-up and…I think you’re going to like what you see!  This is a once-a-month hop and…all our cards will be fun folds!!  How cool is that?!?

I decided to go with an oldie-but-goodie…the Double Easel Fun Fold – in landscape this time (versus portrait, like you usually see this fold!).  And I decorated it with a whole herd of animals from the Beary Christmas DSP, the Beary Cute stamp set and punch, and a Merriest Trees Christmas tree!  Take a look-see:

Easels all pretty much start the same way.  For this one, I have a Misty Moonlight card base and the easel is Balmy Blue.

I scored the 5 1/4″ x 9 1/4″ piece of Balmy Blue cardstock at 4″ and again at 6 5/8″.  I folded the 4″ score as a valley and the 6 5/8″ as a mountain.  Using Liquid Glue on the back of the largest section, I adhered the easel to the Misty Moonlight card base.

I adhered a panel of Beary Christmas DSP – with a few cute bears sitting atop floating icebergs – to the large panel.  The two smaller panels got different designs from the DSP.  For this card, the easel ALSO serves as the mats! 🙂

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the big Merriest Trees tree in Mossy Meadow and cut it out with the largest tree die in the bundled Merriest Trees die set.  I added “ornaments” using gold Metallic Enamel Effects Basics – and let them dry.

When the little dots were completely hard, I used Liquid Glue on the lower portion of the tree to adhere it to the smaller front panel. I used the Merriest Trees die to cut out a Distressed Gold Specialty Paper star and adhered it to the top of the tree with Liquid Glue.

I stamped a Beary Cute sentiment in Real Red on a strip of Basic White cardstock.  I edged the strip with my Balmy Blue Stampin’ Write Marker and adhered it to the front panel with Liquid Glue.

Then – I got busy with a couple of designs from the Beary Christmas DSP.  I used the Beary Cute punch to cut out the bear with the red sweater.  All the other animals and the gifts are fussy cut using Paper Snips.

Don’t panic, y’all.  Yes – it’s some cutting but it is SO worth it!  I promise!

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered all the animals and gifts to the lower panel.  The little otter was the last to hop on – and I adhered him with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.  And – that was it for the front of the easel!

For the inside, I stamped the outline and fill for the Beary Cute tree in Mossy Meadow on a piece of Basic White cardstcok.  I also added a Beary Cute sentiment in Real Red.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Balmy Blue mat and into the inside of the card base – and the card was done!  Easy peasy!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Beary Cute tree on the front…

…and some red sweater paper from the Beary Christmas DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Well – I already loved double-easel fun fold cards but this one is especially sweet – with the polar beasties from Beary Cute (and the Beary Christmas DSP!) having a Christmas gathering!  And – what did I say about the Merriest Trees bundle?  Yes – I said it’s uber-useful and I said you’d be seeing it again!  And – that you’d be wanting it soon as you can get it.  I was right on ALL counts, wasn’t I?! 😉
