Good morning – Happy HAWWWWWMP DAY – and…happy….BIG NEWS at Stampin’ Up! Day! That’s right – today we get to see what is leaving us from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog and the Jan – Apr 2023 Mini Catalog! This afternoon I’ll be back with the Retiring/Last Chance List and…there MIGHT be a little surprise from me! 😉
Now – today’s card features TWO DSP packs – both of which I am just about a million percent sure will be on the retiring list – our DSP almost NEVER carries over! The Rain or Shine Specialty DSP – from the Jan-Apr 2023 Mini – and Hues of Happiness DSP from the 2022-2023 Annual! I used them – and the Happiness Abounds bundle (will it stay or will it go?!) – to create one of my fave fun folds! Take a look-see:
Many of the elements on this card were inspired by the Inspo List from Festive Friday! I got…Bright colors, Splatters, Patterned Paper, Square and…if you quint a bit…Apertures! 🤷♀️
I started with a basic Book Fold card – scoring a 4 1/4” x 11” piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock at 5 1/2” and 6 3/4” on the long side. I folded the 5 1/2” score line as a “mountain” – so….you know, ”regular”! – and at the 6 3/4” score in the opposite direction. Topographically speaking, that would be a “valley” fold!
Using Liquid Glue between the 5 1/2” and 6 3/4” score lines, I adhered the front of the card base to the back – just in that 1 1/4” area. This made the “book” or “side” fold.
I matted two pieces of Rain or Shine Specialty DSP – with the spatters! – on Mossy Meadow. The narrow strip I adhered to the narrow side of the card base with Liquid Glue.
Using the largest and next-to-largest square Stylish Shapes dies together – I ran them thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine to cut out a Basic White frame, which I adhered to the card front.
One of the coolest things about the Hues of Happiness DSP is all the gorgeous flowers and leaves that can be cut out with the coordinating dies in the Blossoming Happiness die set. I used them to cut out three pretty yellow roses and three leaves!
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered all of the foliage, except the largest rose, to the card front. That last flower I adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I used my Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend to color a length of white Baker’s Twine. When it dried, I tied a simple bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.
On a strip of Basic White, I stamped the Happiness Abounds sentiment in Granny Apple Green. I matted the strip on Mossy Meadow.
I used a single Stampin’ Dimensional near the bow – and two TRIPLE stacked Dimensionals on the right end of the strip (it took a lot to make up the height difference!) – to adhere the sentiment over the bow.
Finally, I added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped a second Happiness Abounds sentiment in Granny Apple Green on a Basic White panel. Across the bottom I stamped two of the smaller roses from the stamp set in Daffodil Delight ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into the card base, then adhered the card front with Liquid Glue and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Daffodil Delight Happiness Abounds roses across the front…
…and more Rain or Shine Specialty DSP on the envelope flap!
Et Voila! Y’all know I love book-fold cards – I mean…what’s not to love? They’re easy and just beg for pretty decoration! In this card I used the Happiness Abounds bundle and some really gorgeous papers! The Rain or Shine Specialty DSP to set the stage – and the Hues of Happiness DSP to get stunning florals – without having to stamp and color! Perfect!
I hope you like!
