Stampin’ Up! Country Floral Bouquet Folded Corner Peek-A-Boo Valentine’s with Video Tutorial

Good morning, my friends – and happy Sunday!  Hope your weekend is going well! Wayne’s been working out in the shop.  I’ve been working in the house.  Finn’s been working in the….well.  Never mind. He’s been mostly napping! 😂

My card today is a fun fold – sort of?  You can decide for yourself.  It features the pretty Country Floral Lane DSP and the coordinating Country Bouquet stamp set for a sweet Valentine’s Day card.  Take a look-see:

The love theme is from this week’s Global Design Project challenge.

I saw this fun idea on Pinterest the other day – from Linda at Linda’s Stampin’ Escape – and decided to give it a go!

I started with four 1 7/8″ x 2 1/2″ pieces of the Country Floral Lane DSP.  I laid them out as they would be on my card front and then used a pencil to lightly mark the 1″ points as shown below, then just lined the tick marks up in the Simply Scored Score Tool and scored between the tick marks.  Note:  if you have a directional DSP – like I picked – then you’ll want to keep track of that as you make your corners!

I folded each triangle back on itself – revealing the other side of the DSP.

I dry fit the panels on my Basic White cardstock panel and then stamped just the large heart from the Country Bouquet set in Sweet Sorbet, so that it would be “framed” by the peek-a-boo corners! 🙂

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered each of the panels in place.

Then I used a Stampin’ Dimensional under each folded triangle to secure it “open”.

I used two lengths of Sweet Sorbet Baker’s Twine from the 2022-2024 In Color Baker’s Twine pack to tie a simple bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Country Bouquet sentiment in Balmy Blue ink and cut it out with my Paper Snips.

I edged the little sentiment with my Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Write Marker and popped it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I added a few of the Mango Melody Adhesive-Backed Milky Dots (which read as “gold” on this card front).

Finally, I popped the card front onto a Petal Pink mat with Stampin’ Dimensionals – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Country Bouquet sentiment in Balmy Blue on a Basic White panel and stamped the outline heart over top in Petal Pink.  In the corner, I added the small floral image in Petal Pink ink – and then colored the hearts and leaves with my Sweet Sorbet and Mint Macaron Stampin’ Write Markers – to match the DSP revealed on the front!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Petal Pink mat and into the Sweet Sorbet card base, adhered the card front on with Liquid Glue and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Country Bouquet floral on the front…

…and more of the Country Bouquet DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love this sweet and easy way to showcase a pretty image AND two sides of our gorgeous Country Floral Lane DSP – or ANY of our wunnermus DSPs, right??  And the Country Bouquet stamp set is so fun – that stamped heart is just the perfect size for this fold!

Finn Fan Fix

In the mornings, we both get up – I have some coffee and watch a little tv and Finn goes back to sleep.

Okay – I might sleep a little in the chair, too.  Don’t judge.

But – around 7, I am supposed to get up and get on the treadmill.

Yesterday – I really did NOT want to.

Okay – MOST days I really do NOT want to.

But…my trainer keeps me on track.

Move it, lady!

  1. Such a cute card! Love the little peek-through to the heart and the paper is perfect! And thank goodness that Ginny has no such routine at our house…she’s mostly staring at me at 7 AM waiting for me to walk over to the office so that she can lay down on the big fluffy pillow! 🙂

Make no mistake – as soon as I get MY behind up…HE settles right back to sleep! His duties don’t start till we head out to feed! Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂

  2. Pam Zorn

Love this card design!! I have never seen it before. Thanks for sharing 😊. I really need a “Finn” to motivate me! Our cat, Gracie, would rather have me stay in my recliner so she doesn’t have to move!😂 Have a great week.

When I had kitties, they, too, prefered me to stay in the chair! And it was SOOO hard to disappoint them! Thanks so much, Pam – glad you liked the card! 🙂

Enjoyed watching live viedo last night. Card design is very cute!
