Good morning, y’all! Hope your week has started out well. I don’t know about you, but…Tuesdays that are Mondays always keep me confused all thru the rest of the week. I barely know if it’s Christmas or…well…TUESDAY!
I hope it is NOT Christmas. Just sayin! 😉
My card today would be perfect for the NEXT upcoming holiday – Valentine’s Day! It gets its color palette from some Country Floral Lane and Country Gingham DSPs and features the so-cute Love Cats stamp set! Oh. And it’s super easy! Take a look-see:
The sweet little layout is from the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.
I started by adhering a piece of Country Gingham 6″ x 6″ DSP to a Basic Black mat with Stampin’ Seal+ for the card front. Then I matted a smaller panel of Country Floral Lane DSP on Basic Black and adhered it to the card front with more Stampin’ Seal+.
I used my Stamparatus to stamp the topsy-turvy kitty from the Love Cats set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. For solid stamps like this one – the Stamparatus will be your best friend – and let you get a really solid black image cuz you can stamp multiple times in the same exact spot!
I colored the little heart with my Light Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Blend and cut out the image with the next-to-largest Stylish Shapes circle die. Then I popped the circle onto the card front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the sentiment in Balmy Blue on a strip of Basic White, then matted it on Basic Black cardstock.
Using Liquid Glue on the left end – and a couple of Black Stampin’ Dimensionals on the right end – I adhered the sentiment to the card front. I lined it up with the bottom of the cat image so that it looked like he was upside down ON the sentiment! Cuz I’m all clever like that! 😉
I added some Sweet Sorbet 2022-2024 In Color Matte Dots and the card front was done!
I TOLD you it was easy!
For the inside, I used the Stamparatus again to add a second image from Love Cats in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I used the image with the kitty perched on a ledge – but positioned it so it looks like he’s peeking up from the edge of the cardstock! Then I colored the heart with the Light Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Blend.
I used Stampin’ Seal+ to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and then into my Balmy Blue card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the same peeking kitty on the front…
…and a little more Country Floral Lane DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I don’t think you even need to be a cat lover to love the adorable puss in this Love Cats set! He’s just too cute to NOT love! And we’ve established that the Country Floral Lane DSP – and the coordinating Country Gingham 6″ x 6″ DSP – are simply gorgeous!
