Stampin’ Up! Festive, Framed & Floral Christmas Card

Good morning and happy Hawwmp Day!  Hope your week is going well!

So – would it surprise you to know that I pulled out the new Festive & Framed stamp set and the Framed Florets Bundle for today’s card?  I can’t help it – it’s just so darned pretty – and I’m excited to keep sharing it with you!  Take a look-see:

Stampin' Up! Festive, Framed & Floral Christmas Card

The color palette hails from the CAS Colours & Sketches color challenge!

I started by stamping a sentiment from Festive & Framed in Rich Razzleberry ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock.  Then I embossed it in the Whimsical Woodland 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to the front of my Mint Macaron card base using Liquid Glue.

Next, I used two of the oval dies from the Framed Florets Dies to cut the little hearts oval from a piece of Mint Macaron Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP.  You’ll need to use both dies in order to get the center oval cut out.

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the panel over the embossed white panel.

I used the die from Framed Florets to cut out a Pear Pizzazz leaf and adhered it to the bottom of the oval with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the floral spray and two of the little berry sprays from Framed Florets in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then I colored them using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush as a paint brush.

I did that by putting a little drop of Mint Macaron, Pear Pizzazz and Rich Razzleberry Ink Refill on an acrylic block.  Then I picked up a little of the ink – a LITTLE of the ink!!!! – and colored the images!  Tip:  an older – less juicy! – Wink of Stella brush works best for this method (I keep an old one around for just this reason!).  Color and Shimmer in one go!

When everything was dry, I cut the images out with their matching dies in the Framed Florets.  I adhered the floral spray with Stampin’ Dimensionals and tucked the little berries underneath with some Liquid Glue.

Then I added a few Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped a second Framed & Festive stamp set in Rich Razzleberry on a Basic White panel.  In the corner, I stamped the floral spray in Tuxedo Black and colored it in Mint Macaron, Pear Pizzazz and Rich Razzleberry with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Basic White mat and into the Mint Macaron card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Framed Florets image on the front…

…and a little more of the Mint Macaron Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So – what do you think of Mint Macaron, Pear Pizzazz and Rich Razzleberry?  A little unexpected – but…I think the Framed Florets bundle carries it off pretty darned well.  And the Framed & Festive stamp set is a perfect way to bring home the Christmas spirit!  I love the pretty fonts and nice sentiments!

Finn Fan Fix

It’s Acorn Season in GA.  The trees are flinging acorns here, there and everywhere.

Deer – and PONIES!! – love love love acorns.

Cerah becomes a little…focused…in the mornings – there are acorns to be harvested and she’s not all that interested in moving on to the gate to the pasture! What if she misses one?  Or…a hundred?!? 😳😳😳

As it happens…

Finn ALSO loves acorns.

  1. Love your colors and your coloring of the flowers is just so perfect. I didn’t know horses and dogs loved acorns. For me, they are a nuisance…as are pine cones. The lawn mowers fling them here, there and everywhere 😉

    • stampsnlingers

I know – they can be a pain, for sure! Out here we don’t worry about them. I hate the gumballs MUCH MUCH more! 😳😳😳 Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

  2. Such a pretty card! Love the layering and the colors are perfect! Just beautiful! Of course Finn can’t let the girls eat all of the good stuff. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

True – they get ALL the good stuff! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  3. Faith Simpson

I love this set so much….everything I see with it is just so pretty. When I think we’ve seen everything, you come up with a new design…

    • stampsnlingers

It sure is a wonderful suite of goodies, for sure! Thanks, Faith! 🙂

  4. Susan K

Very pretty card, Mary. Love that oval and flowers. TFS Squirrels love acorns too so I imagine Finn is just guarding the fallen jewels so Cerah can have them…he’s thoughtful like that! 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Yes…let’s go with THAT! 😉 Thanks so much, Susan! 🙂

  5. Kate

Always good to be able to live off the land. Or at least supplement.

  6. Stunning card! The coloring on your flowers is perfect…so much depth!

I remember you saying that the ponies love acorns, but Finn too? Lol!

    • stampsnlingers

Oh yea. Not with the incredible fervor of the ponies, but…he does enjoy a good snack every once in a while! Thanks so much, Carol! 🙂

  7. Delightful card! This floral image is beautiful. Thanks so much for playing along with us at CC&S this week.
