Stampin’ UP! Brightest Glow Christmas Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a sweet (and timely!) theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I pulled out a couple of bundles – that are designed to work together! – to make this card.  The Christmas Lights Bundle and Brightest Glow Bundle go together like peanut butter and jelly! Or…eggnog and rum! YUM!  Add in some Lights Aglow DSP and..you’ve got yourself a party!  Take a look-see:

Gosh – I WONDER what our theme is!! 😉

And I pulled the fun layout from the Tuesday Mornings Sketches challenge!

I started with a piece of black paper from the Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ Specialty DSP that would become the card front.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere 1/2″ wide strips of two other black (with gold foil embossing) designs from the pack to the panel to create the diagonal pattern.  I let the ends of the strips hang off the edges of the panel until all the strips were adhered – then trimmed the excess with my Paper Trimmer.

I matted the panel on Cherry Cobbler using Stampin’ Seal.

Next, I cut a 3″ square from a Cherry Cobbler piece of the Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ Specialty DSP – isolating one of the gold foil circles in the design.

From a piece of gold Glimmer 12″ x 12″ Specialty Paper, I cut the large snowflake from the Twinkling Lights Die set – using both of the large dies (one nested inside the other) as I ran it thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.

I adhered the glimmery snowflake to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using Glue Dots, I looped a length of Gold & Vanilla 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon onto the snowflake.

I used the circle die in the Labels Aglow dies (bundled with the Brightest Glow stamp set) to cut a circle from the same black Lights Aglow paper that I used for the card front.  I adhered the circle over the ribbon with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Brightest Glow sentiment in Cherry Cobbler and cut it out with the narrow die in the Labels Aglow set.

I popped the sentiment onto card front and…it was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Brightest Glow sentiment in Cherry Cobbler on a piece of Very Vanilla.  I stamped the little snowflakes from Christmas Lights in Versamark ink, sprinkled them with gold Embossing Powder and heat set them with my Heat Tool.

I used Stampin Seal to adhere the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more gold heat embossed snowflakes on the front…

…and a little Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the black-and-gold with the pop of Cherry Cobbler from the Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ DSP, don’t you? And the two bundles – Christmas Lights and Brightest Glow are a match made in card heaven – all ready for your Christmas projects!
