Stampin’ Up! Playful Birthday Piggy Double Easel Fun Fold With Video Tutorial

Good morning and welcome to almost-the-weekend!  And it’s a long weekend at that!  Yeah!  Hope you’ve got something fun planned for the last hurrah of the summer!

My card today is the very epitome of fun!  It features the adorable This Birthday Piggy AND the new – LIMITED TIME ONLY! – Playful Piggy Die set!  I put those little oinkers on a cool – and EASY! – Double Easel Fun Fold for you.  Take a look-see:

I made this card on my Facebook Live yesterday – if you were able to watch I appreciate you spending part of your week with me!  If not or you’d like to watch again – here ’tis on YouTube!

I started by scoring and folding a 4″ x 10 1/4″ piece of Soft Suede cardstock at 5 1/4″ and 7 3/4″ to create the easel.

On the back panel, I adhered a piece of “cloudy” looking paper from the host-exclusive Celebrate Everything DSP using Liquid Glue.  I used the grass die from the Playful Piggy Die set to cut a grassy top on a piece of Granny Apple Green paper from the same pack and adhered it to the bottom of the panel.

Here’s the die cuts and decorations that I made for the back of the card front.

– Soft Suede cardstock wagon – I used Stampin’ Dimensionals under the wheels and the end of the handle to adhere it.

– So Saffron (x3) and Crushed Curry (x4) “straw bales” – adhered haphazardly with Liquid Glue “inside” the wagon.

– Starry Sky cardstock die cut bird – adhered with Liquid Glue.

– Stamped the This Birthday Piggy “wheee” sentiment” three times in Starry Sky ink.

For the easel – I cut the grass die on the top of a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock and adhered it to the front of the easel – making sure that the “grass” peeked up over the top of the easel fold.

I adhered a layer of the Granny Apple Green Celebrate Everything DSP – again with the grass die cut top – with Liquid Glue.  Then there’s another – shorter – Granny Apple Green layer – adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally across the bottom is a narrow die cut DSP strip adhered with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the This Birthday Piggy sentiment in Granny Apple Green on Basic White and cut it with the “sign” die in the Playful Piggy Die set – then popped it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used my Stamparatus to stamp the adorable piggy-on-a-scooter image in Early Espresso on Basic White and cut it out with the coordinating Playful Piggy die.

Then I colored the image using Stampin’ Blends:

– Petal Pink – for the pig

– Gray Granite – pig nose, feet, scooter handle bars, seat and tires

– Tahitian Tide – scooter

– So Saffron – light and tail light

– Polished Pink – confetti

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the pig – tucking it under the popped up Granny Apple Green grass layer on the easel – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used the Stamparatus to stamp another image from This Birthday Piggy in Early Espresso ink.  I colored it with the Blends – and then stamped a second sentiment in Granny Apple Green.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Soft Suede mat and into the Crushed Curry card base, then adhered the card front/easel to the front of the card with Liquid Glue – and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the third This Birthday Piggy image on the front…

…and more of the Celebrate Everything DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh yes – is This Birthday Piggy – and his coordinating Playful Piggy Dies –  too stinkin’ cute, or what?!?  Straw bales and wagons – piggies-on-Vespas – bluebirds of happiness!?!  Totes Adorbs!  And the Double Easel is a perfect base for him – especially with the uber-versatile Celebrate Everything DSP!
