Stampin’ Up! Olive Branch Peace Hope Love Sympathy Card

Good morning , y’all!  It’s Sunday and, thanks to decreasing time zones – by the time you read this we’ll be – hopefully! – back on the road for day 2 of our journey!  You’ll be glad to know that Finn is dealing nicely with his first BIG trip!

This card is one that I made to replenish my sympathy card stash – we all need them at one point or another and I like to have a couple ready to go!  It uses the sweet and simple – and (I’m betting!) easily overlooked! – Olive Branch stamp set.  It’s really pretty and looks perfect with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.  Take a look-see:

The inspiration for this card was from the CASology Cue Card this week.

I started by placing a Very Vanilla panel into the Stamparatus and used the Marker-to-Stamp technique with my Old Olive and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Markers.  I colored the leaves in Mossy Meadow and the olives in …Old Olive.  Cuz…hello??

Once I had the amount of color I wanted, I embossed the panel in the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.

Using Liquid Glue, I double-matted the panel – first with Merry Merlot and then with Old Olive (don’t you love the Merry Merlot with the Mossy Meadow and Old Olive!?).

I used Stampin’ Seal+ to adhere a doubled-up length of Old Olive ribbon from the Old Olive & Sahara Sand Twill Ribbon Combo Pack.  Then I used a Glue Dot to adhere a simple bow tied with a double-length of Linen Thread.

On a piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Olive Branch sentiment in Merry Merlot.  Then I cut it with a Stitched Rectangle Die – it’s the one that’s sort of “by itself” – not nested like the others.

Then I popped the sentiment over the ribbon and thread with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A single Rustic Metallic Adhesive-backed Dot finished off the card front.

On the inside, I stamped a second Olive Branch sentiment in Merry Merlot and the smaller foliage image in stamped-off-once Old Olive.  I added another Rustic Metallic Adhesive-backed Dot.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Merry Merlot and an Old Olive mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Olive Branch image in stamped-off-once Old Olive on the front…

….and again on the envelope flap – this time in full-strength Old Olive.

Et Voila!  I know that you’re thinking!  You’re thinking to yourself…”Self?  How the heck did you miss the wonderful Olive Branch set!?”  I mean – it’s so pretty and the sentiments are just perfect!  I hope you like – and that you’re putting it on the list for your very next order!!
