Good morning, y’all! Hope your weekend is starting out well! I’ll be headed out in a bit, I suspect – first day is really short so there’s not a need to hurry.
Which is good. My hurry has done get up and gone! I’m in slog mode! 😳 But – I am SO having Vietnamese for dinner at my fave restaurant in Huntsville tonight – so that is definitely something to look forward to!
Yeah – I hung the participle or something like that – sorry! But it means I need to get typing before I start drooling on my keyboard! 😳
My card today was a chance to play with the new Split Card Textures dies – an a la carte (ie: stand-alone) die set in the new Annual Catalog. I paired it with a host-exclusive set called Begin with a Dream. Take a look-see:
The color palette was inspired by the Global Design Project challenge this week.
I started by running a piece of Pretty Prints DSP thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine with one of the Split Card Textures dies in place in the corner. Note that it cuts INTO the paper – it doesn’t cut OUT a shape!
I adhered a piece of Petal Pink cardstock to the front of the card with Stampin’ Seal+.
Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the die cut panel to the front of the card.
Next I cut out a circle from the Lovely Layers Vellum with the largest Stylish Shapes circle die. I embossed the circle in the Stripes folder from the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folders. Then I used more Stampin’ Seal+ to adhere the embossed circle to the card front.
Using Stampin’ Seal+, I added a loose figure-8 from Starry Sky 1/8″ Metallic Woven Ribbon.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a Sweet Sorbet heart from the Begin With a Dream stamp set (this is a Host-Exclusive set that you can get for FREE by hosting a workshop….can you say…Stamps-N-Lingers Online Host Club?!…OR placing an order over $150 by yourself!). Then I cut it out with the smooth-edged Heart Punch Pack punch.
I cut a scalloped-edge Heart Punch from Petal Pink and adhered the stamped heart image with Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Basic White, I stamped a Begin with a Dream sentiment twice – once in Starry Sky and once in Sweet Sorbet. I cut out the Starry Sky image with the third-from-largest square Stylish Shapes die. I fussy cut the word “heart” from the Sweet Sorbet image. I adhered that in place on the larger image with Liquid Glue.
Then I adhered the whole thing to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added some Heart Pearls here and there and…the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped the globe image from Begin With a Dream in stamped-off-once Petal Pink. Over the top I added another sentiment in Starry Sky. I colored a Heart Pearl with my Dark Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Blend and added it next to the sentiment.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Petal Pink mat and into my Starry Sky card base and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Begin With a Dream globe in Petal Pink on the front…
…and more of the Pretty Prints DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! So…the Split Card Textures Dies are just as cool as I’d hoped they’d be! Can’t wait to try the second die in the set! And, I love this sentiment from Begin With a Dream, too, as well as the other sweet images and sentiments in the set! 🙂
I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix
So – to say that we’ve been frantically working to get gone – today! – is an understatement!
And Finn senses that somehting is a-paw.
So…he’s keeping a sharp eye on the comings and goings.
He was a little confused about why we took his seats out of the van today but…once we stopped cleaning, he hopped in.
Not all that unusual. He likes being in the car anyway.
But – his bottom line was made VERY clear when Wayne fired up the shopvac to vacuum out the floor.
Finn HATES the vacuum. Not as much as he hates bugs cuz…bugs!…but…he immediately departs the fix when any loud thing starts up.
Not today. TODAY he was staying put.
Not leaving THIS guy, y’all! 😉

Such a sweet card! Love the sentiments, just perfect! Yeah…don’t think that you’re getting away without Finn sitting right where he is. 😉 Safe travels!!
Yep – he’s in full-Velcro mode! Thanks, Amy! 🙂
I’m excited for your travels and praying for your safety. Our son lived in Huntsville for 3 years. We enjoyed visiting but only ate at Beauregards. Meh! I have never had Vietnamese food but I’d be willing to try it. Have fun.
It is SOOO good!! I can’t tell you how often I ate there when I lived there – and again whenever I’d go back for meetings! One of my fave places ever – and it did not disappoint! 🙂 Thank you, my friend! 🙂
Have an egg roll for me!
😍
Had TWO! 🙂
Great card. Have a safe trip to Colorado ❤️ Weather has been cooler than usual. But I would rather have the rain and cool instead of fires.
Yes indeed! Fire is too scary for me!! Thanks so much, Diane! 🙂
Finn has a sneaky suspicion that a road trip may be in the works and wants to make sure he is onboard.
Oh yes – he will not be left behind!! Thanks, Bonnie! 🙂
