Stampin’ Up! Crane of Fortune Fun Fold for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a color challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

As soon as I saw the colors in the sketch, I knew I was going to be working with the Symbols of Fortune Specialty DSP from the Jan – June 2021 Mini Catalog.  Remember it?  It’s easy to forget the beautiful things in there when we’re in the throes of the excitement of a new catalog launch, right?!?  This pretty paper is gorgeous – and perfect with it’s coordinating Crane of Fortune bundle.  And..I pulled out a goody from the new catalog, too – the aptly named Fabulous Frames.  Take a look-see:

And here’s the color challenge we were working with!

I pulled the crane out thanks to the theme challenge over at The Paper Players.

And the Just Us Girls challenge was right up my alley this week!  Fun Fold?? Yes, please!

I started by making the super easy tri-fold – I took a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock and used my Simply Scored Score Tool to score it at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″ on the long side.  And – that was it!

I folded the 2 1/8″ line as a “mountain” and the 4 1/4″ line as a “valley”.

I matted two pieces of bamboo-design Symbols of Fortune Specialty DSP on Calypso Coral cardstock, then adhered them to the card base (front panel and inside large panel) using Liquid Glue.

I did the same with a second design from the DSP pack – adhering it to the middle panel with Liquid Glue.

Using the Fabulous Frames die, I cut two Evening Evergreen frames.

I cut a rectangle of Symbols of Fortune Specialty DSP and used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the back of one of the Fabulous Frames.  I snipped the little bit of “extra” DSP peeking past the frame with my Paper Snips.

I put Liquid Glue on just half of the back of the frame and adhered it to the front panel of the card – the entire right side of the die cut is “hanging” off!

I cut two Evening Evergreen leaves and one Soft Succulent leaf using the Good Fortune dies and adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Next – I used a Glue Dot to wind a loose figure-8 from Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Crane of Fortune sentiment in Calypso Coral and cut it with the next-to-smallest rectangle die in the Scalloped Contours die set.

Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the crane in Smoky Slate on Basic White (I stamped a few times to darken the image a bit) and cut it out with the matching Good Fortune die.

I closed the card and popped the sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then used Dimensionals and Liquid Glue to adhere the crane to the side of the sentiment – ensuring the wings didn’t extend past the edge of the card base.

I added some new 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds in Soft Succulent and the card front was done!

For the inside, I stamped a second Crane of Fortune sentiment in Calypso Coral on a 2 1/4″ x 3 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock. I added some Evening Evergreen dragonflies and a stamped-off-once Soft Succulent leaf.  Then I adhered the panel to the inner liner with Liquid Glue – ensuring that the panel was covered completely by the FRONT die cut when the card was closed (so it’s a surprise!).

I added the second Evening Evergreen Fabulous Frames die cut with Liquid Glue – and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Crane of Fortune dragonflies on the front…

…and more beautiful Symbols of Fortune Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is such an elegant bundle – with the Crane of Fortune stamp set and matching Good Fortune Dies, don’t you think?  And the Symbols of Fortune Specialty DSP is simply gorgeous.  Tell me –  how much do you already love the Fabulous Frames die set?!?  Let me answer for you….A TON!! 😉

I hope you like!
