Stampin’ Up! Wild & Sweet Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

The sketch is pretty wide open and the new Wild & Sweet stamp set just sort of called my name!  I combined it with some new Perfectly Penciled DSP.  I added a bold sentiment from the Slim Sayings set – which is in the current Jan – Jun 2022 Mini Catalog.  Take a look-see:

And here’s that sketch I mentioned.

The panda image seems pretty perfect for the Inspire. Create. color challenge this week!  I think it’s pretty obvious that GREEN was my Free Choice color, right?! 😉

I started with a piece of the all black-and-white, ready to color, Perfectly Penciled DSP (coming on 3 May – that’s less than a week from today!) that I matted on Granny Apple Green cardstock for the card front.

I used Dark Granny Apple Green and Dark Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends (Parakeet Party is a new In Color and you’ll be able to get this combo pack next week, too!) to color the leaves on the DSP. This DSP is so cool.  I mean, are you ready to CUUUUUULLLLLEEERRRRRR?!

Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the sweet panda from Wild & Sweet (yep – next week!) in Tuxedo Black on a piece of Basic White cardstock.  When it was good and dry (remember that dark colors – like Tuxedo Black! – take a little extra minute to dry!), I cut it with the next-to-largest die in the Scalloped Contours Die set.  I colored the leaves on the image using the same Stampin’ Blends.

I matted the cut out on a piece of Granny Apple Green and then adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I tied a double-length simple bow from Parakeet Party Baker’s Twine (part of the new 2022-2024 In Color Baker’s Twine pack) and adhered it with a little bit of Liquid Glue.

Again using the Stamparatus, I stamped a sentiment from the Slim Sayings set  – you can get this right now! – in Tuxedo Black on a strip of Basic White.

I matted the sentiment on Granny Apple Green and popped it over the bow with some Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

With my Dark Parakeet Party Blend, I colored a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and adhered them to the card front – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I matted a narrow strip of the Perfectly Penciled DSP on Granny Apple Green – colored the leaves – and adhered it to a Basic White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Granny Apple Green mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got…some partial sentiments from Slim Sayings!  I used sticky notes to mask the stamps and stamped “Fabulous” twice in Granny Apple Green and the words “You Are” in the middle….

…and more Perfectly Penciled DSP on the envelope flap.  This panel lets you get a nice look at the difference between Granny Apple Green and Parakeet Party! 🙂

Et Voila!  How cute is this little panda dude from the Wild & Sweet set?  He’s joined by a cute rackety-coon and sweet koala!

And the Perfectly Penciled DSP is equally cool – ready to be colored with Blends, ink-and-Blender Pen, Watercolor Pencils, whatever makes you happy!

While there’s a lot on here that you can’t get for a minute, there ARE some cool things that are available right this minute – the Slim Sayings stamp set and the wunnermus Scalloped Contours Dies!

I hope you like!

  1. Cute Cute card–TFS!

  2. So sweet Mary 🙂 I think you and Amy were together on this week’s sketch. Love the DSP you used

  3. Such a sweet image! Love the leafy background too, perfect! 🙂

  4. Perfect choice of DSP and color to go with your sweet panda. I’m sure she’s chillin’ with Amy’s!

  5. Love your coloring on this perfect choice of DSP! Sweet, sweet panda.

  6. Adorable!

  7. So, did you and Amy plan this, or was it serendipitous? Either way, love your card. Maybe it is because it is an adorable panda, and maybe because you used Granny Apple Green, nicely avoiding overdoing the new green, which is too much like another green I won’t mention.

LOL – the Green-who-will-not-be-named! I love it! Thanks, Julie – glad that you liked it! 🙂
