Happy Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all! Man – does it seem like I say that and then BLINK – I’m saying it again! I saw Christmas trees up at Walmart over the weekend – that’s how fast time is flying!
I’m kidding.
Or…am I?!? 😉
No – I really am.
It was Halloween candy! 😂😂😂
Nooooo – not really. It was Easter candy and THAT is valid!
But…it won’t be long!
My card today acknowledges the seasons and celebrates them – no hurrying the year along. It’s one of my favorite fly-over stamp sets called Wildflower Path! I used it – and the Stylish Shapes Dies (coming soon in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog) – with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. Take a look-see:
The layout for this one is from the sketch side of the FUSION challenge.
And the color palette is from The Paper Players color challenge.
I started by embossing a piece of Basic White cardstock in the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder, then I matted it on Basic Black for the card front.
Across the bottom, I used Liquid Glue to adhere a strip of Coastal Cabana paper from the Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP.
On a separate piece of Basic White, I stamped the two long stems from Wildflower Path several times in Coastal Cabana ink. I kept them close together – just like wildflowers grow in the wild.
Then I added some tiny flowers (this is the stamp in the set with five small flowers on it!) in Polished Pink. I added the large flowers (three flowers on the one image) in Daffodil Delight. Then I added two more flowers (the sort of ruffle-y ones) to an acrylic block and stamped them both a couple of times in stamped-off-once Polished Pink and Daffodil Delight inks.
I cut the garden out with the largest circle die in the coming-soon-get-it-as-fast-as-you-can-trust-me-on-this Stylish Shapes dies.
I used my Paper Trimmer to cut the circle down some – leaving about 2”, then I adhered the remaining partial circle die cut to the card front using Liquid Glue.
I used Stampin’ Seal on the back of the card front to secure a length of 1/4″ Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon across the seam.
On another piece of Basic White, I stamped the Wildflower Path sentiment in Polished Pink and cut it with a Stitched Rectangle Die.
I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment over the ribbon.
I tied a shorter piece of the ribbon around the ribbon already on the card front – tying a simple knot to create a “faux bow”.
And then, since it’s a garden, I added some Brushed Brass Butterflies here and there and the card front was done.
On the inside, I added a second Wildflower Path sentiment in Polished Pink on a Basic White panel. In the corner, I added more Wildflower Path flowers in Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and Polished Pink. They needed butterflies, too, so…I added a few for them!
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Polished Pink card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got more of the Wildflower Path flowers on the front…
…and more of the Coastal Cabana Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! If you’re an avid gardener or a wanna-be-avid gardener (this would be MY designation!) then the Wildflower Path stamp set is really perfect for you! You can create beautiful wildflower cottage gardens with nothing limiting you but your imagination. And…how many colors of ink pads you have! The Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder really enhances that garden feel. And – I feel like I’ve pounded home the amaze-balls-ness of the new Stylish Shapes dies, so…I won’t do that again. Today! 😉
