Stampin’ Up! Iconic Wildflower Path for the Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I hadn’t played with the Wildflower Path stamp set – nor the Iconic Dies – for a minute, so when I saw a space to stamp a wildflower garden in our sketch, I jumped on those two goodies.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our sketch! Perhaps you’ll notice I flipped it on its head!

The color palette is from The Paper Players this week.

And I decided to use an embossing folder thanks to the Just Us Girls Trend Week challenge.

I started by embossing a Basic White panel in the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder, then I matted it on Pear Pizzazz to make the card front.

On a smaller panel of Basic White, I stamped the grasses image from Wildflower Path a couple times across the bottom in stamped-off-once Pear Pizzazz.  Then I added the two flower stem images in Pear Pizzazz – stamping them at various heights.

I stamped some flowers – the larger ones are two-step: step one (smaller) is Mango Melody and the second image is Daffodil Delight.  Tip:  when you’re stamping multiple-stamp images, I find it easier to stamp whichever is the DARKER color first.  Makes it a LOT easier to line up that lighter image! 🙂  The smaller flowers I stamped in Mango Melody.

I decided I needed some more foliage – so I stamped one of the stem images a few more times in stamped-off-once Pear Pizzazz.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pear Pizzazz mat and then to the card front.

For the sentiment, I inked the Wildflower Path sentiment in Versamark and stamped it on a Mango Melody strip.  Then I sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder from the Basics Embossing Powder pack and heat set it with my Heat Tool.

Then I punched the end with the Banner Pick A Punch.

At this point, I set the card front onto my card base – not adhered, just set to use it as a guide.  Then I adhered the sentiment strip with Liquid Glue – letting it “spill” off the right edge of the card front.

I cut an Iconic Dies frond  – LOVE this die cut!! – from some Pear Pizzazz paper from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP and adhered it by the sentiment with Liquid Glue.

I cut the little Iconic Dies bird from Mango Melody cardstock, then used Liquid Glue to adhere his body (not the legs!) to a piece of Daffodil Delight paper from the Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP.  I fussy cut around the bird – so…now he had a solid body!

I adhered a little bow that I’d tied with White Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack and then added some double-stacks of Stampin’ Dimensionals for the bird.

I also added a little strip of double-stack Dimensionals on his tail.

That picture also illustrates how the DSP and the die cut bird are working together! 😉

I adhered the bird using the Dimensionals and then added some Brushed Brass Butterflies – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second Wildflower Path sentiment in Mango Melody on a Basic White panel.  In the corner, I added a few more flowers in Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody.  And…yes, I added a couple of Brushed Brass Butterflies.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pear Pizzazz mat and then into my Daffodil Delight card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got more of the Wildflower Path flowers on the front…

…and more of the Pear Pizzazz Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh – how I love this Wildflower Path stamp set!  I can only WISH that I could create such a pretty wildflower garden IRL (that’s In Real Life in case you don’t know what the “kids” are using these days!) – but I can’t.  So…I’ll be happy to do it with this gorgeous stamp set!  And… I THINK I told y’all to grab the Iconic Dies the last time I used it.  Did you listen??  If not…now’d be a great time.  Just FYI – although NOT part of the Savings Are in Bloom special, this set DOES work perfectly with the Mini Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine!

I hope you like!
