Stampin’ Up! Artfully Layered Tropical Hugs for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I used one of my favorite bundles and papers for this card today – it’s the Artfully Composed stamp set and bundled Tropical Layers dies.  And a little of the Maui-invokling Artfully Composed DSP.  And no – that is NOT SU! DSP on the card front!  Take a look-see:

And here’s our sketch!

I made my own “DSP” thanks to the prompt from the Just Us Girls challenge this week.

And I also used elements from the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge. I went across the bottom: Sentiment – Embellishment-Die Cut.  And..down the right column: White – Stitching – Die Cut! 🙂

I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock, some ink pads – Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz – and some Blending Brushes.  Then I cut a few of the Tropical Layers dies from scrap cardstock to make stencils.

Using the Blending Brushes, I started layering Artfully Layered foliage onto the cardstock panel.  Tip:  be sure, after you ink your brush, to swirl it on a piece of scrap paper before using it on your card base.  That will get any “clumps” of ink off.  And layer the color – start easy!  You can always ADD color!

Once I had all the green leaves on – I added some Calypso Coral leaves.  Then, using the script stamp, I stamped a few times here and there in Bumblebee ink.

Then I used a 2 5/8″ x 4″ Stitched Rectangle Die to cut a rectangle from the panel.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the remainder of the card front and the cutout to Calypso Coral mats.  Then I popped the matted cutout back in place on the card front.

I adhered Basic White and Evening Evergreen Tropical Layers die cut leaves with Liquid Glue.

I stamped an Artfully Layered leaf image in stamped-off-once Soft Succulent ink on a piece of Basic White and cut it out with the matching Tropical Layers die.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Calypso Coral.

I adhered the sentiment leaf to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using two lengths of white twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack, I tied a simple bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

I added a few Evening Evergreen jewels from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels and the card front was done.

On the inside, I used my stencils and Blending Brushes again to add some Artfully Layered foliage in Evening Evergreen, Pear Pizzazz and Calypso Coral in the corner.  I stamped the scripty image in Bumble Bee, too! 😉

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Calypso Coral mat and into my Soft Succulent card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got more Tropical Layers foliage and script on the front…

…and I stamped a little of the Artfully Composed DSP with some Calypso Coral Artfully Layered leaves and then added it to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Seriously – I am transported back to Hawaii when I play with this gorgeous Artfully Layered stamp set and its bundled Tropical Layers Dies.  And the Artfully Composed DSP is…yup.  Aloooohaaaa-heeeey! (sing that when you read it, okay?!)

I hope you like!
