Stampin’ Up! Your Strength Waves of Inspiration Sneak Peek

Good morning, happy Valentine’s Day and…happy post Super-Bowl Day!  I saw that someone had floated to the football people that the Super Bowl should be on Saturday.  So that everyone who eats a billion wings, twelve pizzas, nachos and some pigs-in-a-blanket (Oh – and drinks a lot of beer and stuff) can take the next day to recover.

So far that appears to not be getting any traction but…it kind of makes sense to me. Why ISN’T the Super Bowl on Saturday?  🤔🤔🤔

Wayne and I DID watch – I decided to root for LA (so I was happy that they won!).  Wayne was pulling for the Bengals.  Probably because I wasn’t!  But…as I mentioned, I was really more interested in the commercials! 😉 Apparently, approximately EVERY car builder on the planet is working on electric vehicles!  🤷‍♀️

My card today uses the coming-soon Waves of Inspiration Bundle with some of the gorgeous Blue Foils Specialty Paper – ALL coming on 1 March (or…get them TODAY if you join the team!)  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

And the color palette is from the Color Throwdown Challenge.

I started by cutting a whole bevy of clouds – large and small – from Basic White cardstock using the dies in the Waves Die set (which will be bundled with the Waves of Inspiration stamp set).  I used Liquid Glue to adhere them all over a Basic White panel (I left a bit of a gap in the middle to accommodate the next layer).

I snipped off the little extra pieces of cloud with my Paper Snips.  Then I matted the panel on a piece of the Night of Navy Blue Foils Specialty Paper (also coming on 1 March with the new collection!).

I cut the smaller label in the Waves Die set from a piece of Coastal Cabana Blue Foils Specialty Paper.  I cut the label in half and then threaded some 3/8″ Fine Art Ribbon thru the two pieces.  Using some Stampin’ Seal – I adhered the ribbon to the card front – then secured it in the back with Glue Dots.

I cut one of the large waves die in Coastal Cabana Blue Foils Specialty Paper and adhered it to a piece of Basic White cardstock using Liquid Glue.  Then I popped it over the ribbon/label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the Waves of Inspiration sentiment in Versamark Ink on a piece of Basic White, sprinkled it with Gold Metallic Embossing Powder and heat embossed it with my Heat Tool.

When the embossing powder was cool I cut it with a Tasteful Labels die.

Using the little bird image in the Waves of Inspiration set, I stamped a few in Night of Navy around the sentiment.  Then I added Coastal Cabana faux stitches using a Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used a few Dimensionals and some Liquid Glue to adhere the sentiment to the card front and..it was done!

I put another piece of Basic White into my Stamparatus and then inked the large wave image from Waves of Inspiration using my Coastal Cabana ink pad.  I daub-daub-daubed over the stamp with a Sponge Dauber and stamped the wave.  I cleaned the stamp and then used another Dauber to add just a little bit of Night of Navy ink on the stamp, then stamped the wave again.  Tip:  go easy here.  The Stamparatus lets you stamp multiple times so…take your time adding the Night of Navy.  You can ALWAYS add more – it’s pretty hard (lesser crafters would say impossible!) to take it away! 😉 Then I added a few more Night of Navy seagulls.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Night of Navy Blue Foil Specialty Paper and into my Thick Basic White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

The front of my Basic White Medium Envelope got the wave and birds on the front…

…and then I pulled out a little of the Waves of the Ocean DSP for the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Oh my gosh, y’all – adding the second ink color to the Waves of Inspiration wave image is…amazing!  Look at the wonderful colors – are you thinking you’re catching a wave in Maui!!? The die cut wave from the Waves Dies is wunnermus in Blue Foil Specialty Paper, isn’t it?  Are YOU ready to get this whole collection?!?

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Yesterday evening, Wayne peeled off from the last walk to put up a light in the wood barn.

As Finn and I made our way past – he was…conflicted.

See what Dad’s doing?  Or…stay and protect Mom and get this mission-critical bottle to the house?

🤔🤔🤔🤔

You KNOW which one chose, right?

He IS his mama’s boy! 😉
