I love an easel card, don’t you? And this one is really a pretty mix of Heart & Home and In Good Taste DSPs, plus the gorgeous bees and florals from the Honeybee Home stamp set and bundled Honeybee Blooms dies. You can get the In Good Taste DSP right now – and all the rest in just under two weeks on 4 Jan 2022 when the Jan – Jun 2022 Mini Catalog goes LIVE!! Take a look-see:
The layout for the front is from the sketch side of the Sugar Peas Mix It Up Challenge!
And the color palette is from the Inspire. Create. color challenge
I started with a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock cut at 5 1/2″ x 6 3/8″ that I scored and folded at 4 1/4″ on the long side to create the card base. I matted a piece of In Good Taste DSP on Early Espresso and then adhered that to the outside of the narrow panel.
The easel “mechanism” is a 3 1/2″ x 4″, scored and folded at 2″ on the long side, then the top half (only) is adhered to the smaller panel on the card base, using Liquid Glue.
I matted a piece of new Heart & Home DSP (coming in the Jan – Jun 2022 Mini Catalog) on a piece of Early Espresso to create the easel panel. Using Liquid Glue, I adhered a new Cinnamon Cider Heart & Home Doily.
I cut a Very Vanilla circle with a scalloped Circles Layering Die, embossed it in the new Hive 3D Embossing Folder (also coming on 4 Jan), and adhered it to the doily with Liquid Glue.
I cut some flowers, using the dies in the bundled Honeybee Blooms die set, from Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and the gold paper in the Gold & Rose Gold Specialty Metallic Paper. Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere them to the embossed circle.
I used a couple of Glue Dots to wind a figure-8 “bow” using the gold twine in the Simply Elegant Trim pack.
The sentiment, from Honeybee Home, is stamped on Very Vanilla in Early Espresso ink, then cut with the smallest of the skinny Stitched Rectangle Dies.
I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment over the flowers and gold trim, then added a Bumblebee Trinket with a Glue Dot.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the bottom half of the panel to the bottom half of the easel mechanism, and the card front was done.
On the inside, I adhered a piece of In Good Taste DSP to an Early Espresso mat and then to the back of the card. I stamped the Honeybee Home sentiment in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla, matted it on Early Espresso and then into the card. HINT: use Liquid Glue to adhere the panel and ensure that when the card is closed you can’t see the inner panel.
I stamped one of the bees from the Honeybee Home set in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and cut it with the matching die from the Honeybee Blooms set. Using my Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends Combo, I colored him. Her? I stood the easel up to the angle I wanted, then adhered the bee with a Stampin’ Dimensional to create the easel stop – and the card was done!
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a few Honeybee Home bees in Early Espresso and Pale Papaya on the front…
…and more of the Heart & Home DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Yes, indeed. I DO love a good easel card – and this one, with the beautiful Heart & Home and In Good Taste DSPs is…gorgeous! The addition of sentiments, images and cool die cuts from the Honeybee Home Stamp Set and bundled Honeybee Blooms Die set is just the icing on the easel! 😉
I hope you like!

I knew Miss Karen wouldn’t forget Finn’s mom and dad! Auntie Karen is the best! I still can’t believe all the cookies she made and packaged so prettily. Your video was great. It looks so complicated but you made it in record time and I will be trying it out for sure. I hope you and Wayne have a wonderful Christmas dinner with your friends. Are you going to share the cookies? I wouldn’t…lol!
It’s super easy!! Thanks very much, Karen – and yes, I was so tickled to be on the receiving end of Karen’s baking frenzy. So was FINN! 🙂 Merry Christmas, my friend! 🙂
Such a pretty card! Love the colors and the design. Sorry that I missed your live yesterday…out doing the mad holiday dash. 🙂 Yay for Finn and Mom cookies arriving in the mail!!
Hopefully you got it all done and can chillax a little! Thank you so much, Amy! 🙂
Merry Christmas Mary!
Thanks, Gerri – same to you! 🙂
