Good morning and happy happy Friday! Got another weekend on the horizon, huh? Do you have some fun plans? I’m going to make the journey north to get my hair cut so that I’m all fixed up for our Krew Team retreat NEXT weekend! I’m really getting excited to see everyone. And…eat a lot of good food that I don’t have to cook OR clean up after! Eat…Craft…eat…craft….eat…sleep – repeat! How awesome does that sound?? 🙂
If you were able to join me yesterday for my YouTube live – I appreciate you spending part of your day with me. If not – but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!
I just got the fun little Frightfully Cute stamp set with the bundled Frightful Tags dies – tru confessions – I got it because of the cute little cat stamp and the witch’s hat and owl dies in the die set! 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ I added some Cute Halloween DSP and a Black Glitter Paper die cut tree! Take a look-see:
The layout for this one was inspired by the sketch at the SugarPea Mix It Up Challenge.
I started with a piece of the Cute Halloween DSP that I adhered to the front of my BumbleBee Card base with Liquid Glue.
I matted a second design from Cute Halloween on Highland Heather and adhered it to the card front with more Liquid Glue.
Although it sort of looks like Basic Black cardstock, the next layer is actually a dark dark piece of Cute Halloween DSP. Using the flying witch image (no – that is NOT a self portrait! 😉 ) from Frightfully Cute, I stamped it in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool. Then I matted it on Highland Heather and popped it onto the card front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the moon from Frightfully Cute in BumbleBee on Basic White then stamped the kitty in Tuxedo Black. I cut it with the die in the Frightful Tags Die set and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
The fence panels are cut from a piece of Cute Halloween – I cut three of them and adhered them with Liquid Glue. Tip: I lined up the bottom horizontal “rail” of the fence with the bottom of the DSP panel to help me keep it straight. And I adhered the left panel first, then the right panel, then split the difference with the middle panel. 🙂
I cut a bare and spooky (not really) looking tree die from Black Glitter Paper and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
The Frightful Tags witch’s hat is cut from Highland Heather and adhered with…say it with me…Liquid Glue! 😂
I stamped the sentiment from Frightfully Cute in Highland Heather on Basic White and cut it with the label die from Frightful Tags then popped it on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.
There’s a cool little die in the set that cuts out six stars – I used them to cut some silver stars from the Silver Specialty Pack and adhered them here and there with Liquid Glue. Then I added some Cute Stars Adhesive-Backed Sequins and the card front was done.
On the inside, I added a second Frightfully Cute sentiment in Highland Heather on Basic White. I stamped the moon over top in stamped-off-once BumbleBee and the kitty in the corner in Tuxedo Black. Then I added another little star sequin!
I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Highland Heather mat and into the BumbleBee card base and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got a little scene on the front in BumbleBee and Tuxedo Black…
…and more of the Cute Halloween DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I’m thinking even if you don’t love Halloween – this Frightfully Cute set – with it’s sweet Frightful Tags die set (have you seen the little OWL!?!?) – is so stinkin’ cute – I don’t see how you could NOT love IT! 🙂
I hope you like!

Such a cute card! Loving those dies and wishing that I’d picked up that set! Poor Mr Gator! Hope that he survived the session! 🙂
He did – he’s a pretty tough gator. But…he didn’t like it, for sure! Thanks, Amy! 🙂
Absolutely adorable and frightfully fun! Great take on the sketch—should be an easy choice as winner! Love it bunches! TFS
Finn does look like he’s having fun! Men love their toys, whatever shape or size!!
Right? They DO love their toys!! Thank you so much, Susan! 🙂
This is one cute set! Do you think this is one of those sets where you could just buy the dies and use them for a lot of other things? Not that the stamps aren’t adorable, but if you had to choose….the dies could be versitle.
Thank you!
Hey Janice – there ARE a lot of dies that would stand alone very well, indeed! So that’s certainly something you could think about! 🙂 Thanks so much! 🙂
This is a cute card and I’ve had this set since last year and I’m just now using it for the first time. LOL. The measurements for the first layer of CS doesn’t appear to be correct in your instructions. You indicate 4 1/8 x 3 5/8 for the Highland Heather. 4 1/8 seems sufficient for horizontal layer that comes on top of the first layer, and 3 5/8 doesn’t cover up the same amount of space on the card front vertically as your card depicts. Can you confirm the measurements for the first layer? Thanks!
Hey Karen – thanks! So…unfortunately, that card is long gone so…I can’t measure it directly. I updated some measurements but – not going to fib – it’s a total guess based on what I can see in the pictures and how I know I tend to measure. Hope that’s closer for you! 🙂
