Stampin’ Up! Words of Christmas Cheer

Happy Labor Day, y’all!  So…I was thinking.  Why on LABOR day do some of us take the day OFF??  Doesn’t that seem a little….backwards?  Or is that just me?

I’m planning a mix of labor and chill today.  Do not ask me the percentages of each – won’t know that until this evening! 😉

So – card.  I pulled out the fun Words of Cheer bundle when I saw the vertical sentiment on a challenge sketch – and added a ton of texture to it with the Bark AND Wintry 3D Embossing Folders!  Take a look-see:

And here’s that challenge – it’s the Freshly Made Sketches layout.

I used a sample on page 20 in the Jul – Dec 2021 Mini Catalog for some of the elements on this – those SU designers are so talented!! 🙂

I started with a piece of Soft Succulent cardstock the same size as the front of my card base, embossed it in the Bark 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Then I cut a piece of Just Jade cardstock using a Stitched Rectangle Die.  Using the “fill” image for the holly leaf in the Words of Cheer stamp set, I stamped all over the panel with stamped-off-once Just Jade.  Then I embossed the panel in the pine boughs folder from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut another, larger, Stitched Rectangle from a piece of Soft Suede, then stamped a sentiment from Words of Cheer all over in Soft Suede ink and embossed it in the Bark 3D Embossing Folder.

I popped the Soft Suede panel on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the “Cheer” mat die (the one with the pine needles) in the Christmas Cheer die set – I cut a Just Jade “mat”.  Then I used the individual letters die to cut out Brushed Metallic letters – from the darkest of the three colors in the pack.  I adhered the letters to the mat with Liquid Glue – then adhered the whole thing to the card front with more Liquid Glue.

I cut out three holly leaf clusters from Soft Succulent and six flowers from Gold Shimmer Paper, using dies in the Christmas Cheer set.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the small flowers to the large ones and then to the Soft Succulent holly leaves.

I popped the top and bottom flowers on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a little bow from Very Vanilla twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Then I added the final flower with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  I added gold Metallic Pearls to the flowers and all the little “berry tips” on the die cut and the card front was done!

My Very Vanilla inner liner got a sentiment from Words of Cheer in Just Jade.  Next to it, I stamped the outline image of the holly sprig with Soft Succulent and then the fill image in stamped-off-once Just Jade.  I added some little “berries” with Bumble Bee ink.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Just Jade mat and into my Soft Succulent card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the same holly and berries image on the front…

…and again on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!!  This is texture on texture on texture, isn’t it?  I love the Bark 3D Embossing Folder and the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders so much!  And… the Words of Cheer stamp set with the bundled Christmas Cheer die set is wunnermus!!

I hope you like!

  2. Way to go Wayne! A blonde on each arm…woohoo!
pretty card, but not ‘Christmasy’ to my way ot thinking. What if you did it in red and Green (pick any green and any red)? I think that would really jazz it up to Christmas level. May have to CASE it that way and see. Thanks for the inspiration. Love those embossing folders!
