Good morning, y’all! It’s Tuesday, 27 Jul! Which means…not much. EXCEPT that it means we’re at T-7 days to the launch of the Jul – Dec 2021 Mini Catalog AND the second round of Sale-A-Bration! And…we’ve got some cool little perks coming in Sale-a-Bration. Be sure to check back here tomorrow for all the deets! 🙂
In the meantime, I’ve got a mish-mash of already-available and soon-to-be-available goodies for you in today’s card! The pretty Evergreen Elegance stamp set – available right now in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog – and the elegant Peaceful Place Specialty DSP, which you’ll be able to get next week in the new mini. Take a look-see:
I chose many elements in this card due to the Just Add Ink challenge – I picked Sky and Trees!
…and from the Inspo List over at Festive Friday. I’ve got Blue – Twine/Thread – Metallic – Ink Blending.
I started with a Basic Gray piece of the new Peaceful Place Specialty DSP that I matted on Night of Navy for the card front.
The next panel is a second design of the paper – white, with silver-embossed evergreens on it – that I added some “cloudy sky” to with my Blending Brush, Balmy Blue ink pad and a mask I created from a window sheet and a Basic Borders die.
I used the scalloped edge die in the Basic Borders die set to cut a mask from one of the thicker acetate sheets I took out of a new Photopolymer stamp set.
I set the top of the mask about halfway up my panel and started lightly blending Balmy Blue ink around the edge of the mask. Then I shifted the mask and moved it up a little – and repeated the blending. I kept doing that all the way to the top, then did a little additional blending of more ink around the top of the panel.
Using the trees in the Evergreen Elegance stamp set, I stamped a couple three Evening Evergreen trees over the silver-embossed trees. I gently wiped any excess ink from the silver-embossed trees. Then I matted the panel on Night of Navy and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I ran a line of Stampin’ Seal + across the middle of the panel and used it to adhere a few loops of silver twine from the Simply Elegant Trim Pack.
I stamped a sentiment from Evergreen Elegance in Evening Evergreen on Basic White and then used a Stitched Rectangle Die to cut it out. There wasn’t a perfectly-sized die, so I used one that was the correct width and ran it part-way thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine once – moved the die to the other end of the sentiment – and ran it thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine a second time. That let me make the label longer.
Yes – I know that’s confusing – I’ll demo that in a video one of these days – y’all help me remember to do that! 🙂
I popped the sentiment over the looped twine with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I picked out some small silver sequins from the new Subtle Shimmer Sequins (coming on 3 Aug in the Jul – Dec 2021 Mini Catalog) and adhered them here and there with little dabs of Liquid Glue – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I repeated the cloud-mask blending on the entirety of a Basic White panel in Balmy Blue. Over top, I added a second sentiment from Evergreen Elegance in Evening Evergreen. Then I added some trees at the bottom of the panel.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Night of Navy mat and into my Smoky Slate card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got some Evergreen Elegance trees – and a little bit of Balmy Blue masked/blended clouds on the front…
…and some more the pretty Peaceful Place Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! My friend Faith Simpson clued me in to using the scalloped die in the Basic Borders Die set to create a mask for making clouds – and boy, do I like how it works – especially since I used a clear acetate sheet (from a photopolymer stamp set) to make the mask! I also love how the stamped Evergreen Elegance trees worked over top of the embossed trees on the Peaceful Place Specialty DSP, don’t you??

Finn Fan Fix
Wayne’s been working on creating a pad to put another garage/storage building. Not an easy task when you need a lot of flat space on a piece of property that is predominantly on a slope of some degree or another!
So the other day we were out shooting for level – to be sure he’s got an actual “flat” spot – with the laser level.
We felt pretty confident leaving the high-dollar level all by itself.
On site security provided by Finn.
No one in their right mind would cross THAT beast! 😉
