Stampin’ Up! Shaded Summer Shadows Sneak Peek

Morning, y’all – and happy Monday.

Sorry if that’s still an oxymoron for you!  For me?  Monday…Friday…it’s all kind of running together!  I mark the week passing by…newsletters on Tuesday and my house being clean on Friday! Some might think that’s easier but…sometimes I need one of those Clocks for Retirees thingys – you know – with days of the week instead of the time?!?  😂😂😂

Now – my card today gives you a sneaky peek at something you’re going to be able to get for FREE during the next round of Sale-A-Bration (3 Aug – 30 Sept).  It’s called the Summer Shadows die set and it works with the gorgeous Shaded Summer stamp set in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog!  Yes – you read me right – a DIE set.  For FREE.  That works with a favorite stamp set! 😳😳😳  And I pulled in some of my fave DSP (ON SALE thru 31 July!!) – the beautimous You’re a Peach DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I started with some striped paper from You’re A Peach that I matted on Evening Evergreen for the card front.

Then I embossed a strip of Basic White in the new Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder (available on 3 Aug) and matted it on Evening Evergreen.

I adhered the matted, embossed panel to the card front with Liquid Glue, at an angle.  Then I used my Paper Trimmer to cut the excess from the sides.

I cut some pieces from the coming-soon Summer Shadows die set…

I cut solid (bottom) flowers in Pale Papaya and more detailed “tops” in Calypso Coral.  And some leaves – bottoms in Soft Succulent and tops in Evening Evergreen.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the pieces and parts together.  (I think you can figure which pieces went where and with what!).

I placed a piece of Basic White into my Stamparatus and then used the Marker-to-Rubber inking technique to color – and stamp – the image from Shaded Summer.  I colored the flowers with my Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker and the leaves with the Evening Evergreen marker.   The Stamparatus is really pivotal to this technique – it lets you stamp multiple times – over and over – all in the same place! 😉  I colored the innards of the image with my Light Pale Papaya and Light Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends.

I used the matching die in the Summer Shadows set to cut the stamped image, then adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the sentiment from Shaded Summer in Evening Evergreen on Basic White and cut it with a Stitched Rectangle die.

I adhered my leaf with Liquid Glue – then added the larger die cut flower.

Then I popped the sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added the final die cut cardstock flower with a little Liquid Glue and a Stampin’ Dimensional – then I added some Soft Succulent gems from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second Shaded Summer sentiment in Evening Evergreen on a Basic White panel.  Then I placed the panel back in the Stamparatus and added the floral from the front – using my Stampin’ Write Markers and Light Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends.  I added a single Soft Succulent gem by the sentiment.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Evening Evergreen mat and into my Calypso Coral card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Shaded Summer image on the front…

…and more of the You’re a Peach DSP on the envelope flap.
