Stampin’ Up! Hand-Penned Flowers Sneak Peek with Video Tutorial

Happy Easter!!  He is Risen – enjoy the celebration of this day!

Something I am so grateful for – and acknowledge as part of the blessings that are upon me every day – are the gorgeous flowers flowering out all over!

Not necessarily at MY house – but…where I can see them when I’m out and about!

The other place I am seeing flowers is in the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog!  My goodness, there are a lot of wunnermus florals in this new catalog and I was fortunate to be able to pre-order several of my faves!  I was finally able to choose which set would debut first and…it was the Hand-Penned Suite!

Now – if you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video – I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me.  If not – and you’d like to see how to make this pretty card, here’s the replay on YouTube!

I used the black cardbase as the foil for the multiple pieces of stunning Hand-Penned DSP!  The beautiful flower and sentiment came from the anchoring bundle for the Hand-Penned Suite which will feature the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set and coordinating Penned Flowers Dies.  I also used some of the amazing shapes dies in the new Scalloped Contours die set.  These will all be available to customers on 4 May!  Take a look-see:

The layout I used was from the current Mojo Monday sketch challenge!

I started by cutting a couple of different designs from the Hand-Penned DSP – and there were a LOT to choose from!

The first was cut using the next-to-largest rectangle die in a new set called Scalloped Contours – which will be available on 4 May 2021, bundled with the Color & Contour stamp set!

I adhered that straight to the front of my Basic Black card base with Liquid Glue.

From a second design in the DSP, I cut the next-to-largest of the square Stitched Shapes Dies (these are retiring SOON – so…if you do not have them, I strongly urge you to grab them up NOW!).  That was also adhered with Liquid Glue.

I cut a strip of Mint Macaron Hand-Penned DSP and stamped the Hand-Penned Petals sentiment in Tuxedo Black on the left side.  Then I matted it on Basic Black and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the smaller floral image from Hand-Penned Petals in Tuxedo Black. This is a photopolymer, multi-step set that creates gorgeous flowers – and the bundle includes the Penned Flowers Die set which will CUT OUT those pretty flowers!

I stamped the smaller flower “fill” image in Daffodil Delight and the larger in Highland Heather.  The leaves are stamped in Mint Macaron.  Then I cut the image with the largest circle in the Stitched Shapes Dies.  See?  Told you you NEED that die set! 😉

I popped the circle onto the card front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals, added a Mint Macaron gem from the new Genial Gems (coming in the new catalog on 4 May) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I repeated the Hand-Penned Petals flower image in the corner of a Basic White panel and added another Mint Macaron Genial Gem.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into the Basic Black card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Hand-Penned Petals image on the front…

…and more of the Hand-Penned DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Wow.  The Hand-Penned Petals and bundled Penned Flowers Dies will – for SURE – be a heavy favorite.  I know it already is for me!  And I think I mentioned during my Sneak peek video yesterday (see it here if you missed it!) that I’d be using Basic Black with the gorgeous Hand-Penned DSP and…yep.  I think it was a good choice, don’t you?

I hope you like!

If you’d like to recreate this card, all the products and card cuts are listed below!  You’ll be able to get the Hand-Penned goodies and Scalloped Contours Dies on 4 May!  Unless you join the team now – then you could get them right away!  Holler at me if you’d like to learn more! 😉

Finn Fan Fix

Well.  It happened.

I found a food that is NON-Finn approved.

And I have photographic evidence.

As happens most mornings, Wayne sets his bowl down for Finn to clean.

And he wonders WHY Finn is a bit of a beggar with him….

It’s a mystery!

Anyway – yesterday’s breakfast was cereal with half a banana on it.

The little bit of cereal milk was gone, baby, gone.

But…

Nope.   Not gonna eat that.

Give it to the cat. 😉
