Stampin’ Up! Quite Curvy Sneak Peek Birthday Card

Happy happy Hawwwmp DAY!!  Hope your week is going well – and that if you’re in the path of the 378th hurricane to hit us this year…that you’re taking steps to be safe!  🙁

I have a SNEAK PEEK for you today!!  Whoo-hoo!  We’ve got a fun new grouping of goodies – called Curvy Celebrations – coming your way in November!  As a demonstrator, I had the chance to get my hands on it early – and you know I did!  My card today uses the Quite Curvy stamp set and the bundled Curvy Dies (these are actually sneak SNEAK peeks of a set that’s going to be in the Jan – Jun 2021 Mini Catalog!).  I used it to create a birthday card for you.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge this week.

And the color palette is from FabFriday!

I started with a piece of Flowers For Every Season DSP that I matted on Misty Moonlight for the card front.

Next, I used two of the edge dies in the Curvy Dies set to create my middle sentiment panel.  I cut a piece of Misty Moonlight with the “perforated” die and a piece of Whisper White with the fluer-de-doo die.

I stamped the sentiment from Quite Curvy in Gray Granite.

Then I lined up the curves of the two die cuts and adhered the two pieces together with Liquid Glue.  Finally, I used my Paper Trimmer to trim the joined panels down to my finished size.

I wrapped a piece of the Misty Moonlight/Silver twine from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack twice around the panel and tied a bow in the front.  I popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a seperate piece of Whisper White, I stamped all three sweet little bird images in Seaside Spray and cut them with their matching dies in the Curvy Dies set.

I colored them with my Light Gray Granite Stampin’ Blend and used a Blender Pen to pull ink from the lid of my Seaside Spray ink pad.

I popped the two highest birds on with a couple of Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and the bird in the bottom corner has a single Mini Dimensional and a little Liquid Glue.

And – that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I stamped a floral image from Quite Curvy in Gray Granite on a Whisper White panel.  Using my Blender Pen and Seaside Spray, Misty Moonlight and Bumble Bee Ink pads, I colored the image.  Then I stamped the bird and colored him as I’d done on the front of the card!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Misty Moonlight mat and into my Gray Granite card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the same Quite Curvy images on the front…

…and more of the Flowers For Every Season DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I am already loving the sweet sentiments – who doesn’t love curvy sentiments!? – in Quite Curvy and I’ve got even more cool dies to play with in the bundled Curvy Dies, but…so far…what a cool group of goodies this is going to be for you!!

I hope you like!

The remainder of the Curvy Celebrations – the Curvy Christmas stamp set and Classic Christmas 6″ x 6″ DSP – are going to be equally fun to play with, I am sure.  And that set coordinates with the Curvy Dies, too!  Winner winner!  There’s more info down below – including a flyer you can print out!

You MIGHT see another card or two this week – like…maybe a video on Thursday?  Just a hint of foreshadowing! 🙂

If you want to recreate this card – all the Stampin’ Up! products you need are listed down below along with the card cuts!

Finn Fan Fix

I am sorry in advance for this picture.

I’m certain that you’re tired of pictures of Finn sleeping.

Two things contribute to this over-sharing of the dog slumbering pictures.

  1. He does a LOT of slumbering. I mean – it’s one of his best things.
  2. He insists upon doing it SO stinkin’ CUTELY!!

I’ve asked.

I asked him to please snort or drool or….well, YOU KNOW…or at the very least just lay flat.

Or SOMEthing that would make me not so inclined to take a 100 pictures of him doing it.

He just rolls his eyes (when he’s awake).

Needless to say, he has yet to comply.
