Stampin’ Up! Plaid Love of Leaves for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a theme/inspiration challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

So – the other day, I saw a card made by the Queen-of-Clean, Mary Fish.  And I absolutley fell in love with it – to the point where I simply had to make it for myself.  I thunked and I thunked on how to change it up – to make it more mine – but…there was no changing her perfectly perfect design.  So – I decided to use the same Love of Leaves with the amazeballs Stitched Leaves Dies and Plaid Tidings DSP – just like she did.  Take a look-see:

Can you tell what our theme is?

It would appear that I selected…leaves! 🙂

And this is the perfect card for this week’s Just Us Girls Trend challenge.

I decided that I’d use some Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes for the bases of my card.  And…that I’d make a stack of them – I’m always needing thank you cards – so…that’s how I went.

I started with a piece of Plaid Tidings 6″ x 6″ DSP that I adhered directly to the front of the Note Card.

From a slightly smaller panel of Whisper White, I cut the large Stitched Leaves leaf die, using my new Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.  I ran the card stock thru with the stitch-embossing die in the middle of the cutting die.

I adhered the panel to the card front with Liquid Glue.  In hindsight – and this is what YOU should consider when you make this for yourself – this would have been the perfect time to use the Adhesive Sheets.  As it was – I just made sure to get each little leaf point glued up. 🙂

I adhered the die cut leaf with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from the Love of Leaves set, is stamped in Whsiper White – in Cajun Craze, Bumble Bee or Misty Moonlight, depending on the card.  I used my Paper Snips to cut a just-the-right-size sentiment.

I tied a little Linen Bow and adhered it to the popped-up leaf with a Glue Dot.  Then I stuck another Glue Dot on top of the bow, and used it – and a Dimensional on the right side – I adhered the sentiment over the bow.

I used coordinating 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots on the sentiment – and near the leaf cut out – and that finished off the cards.

On the inside – I didn’t add any more layers – I just stamped the large leaf image from Love of Leaves in the same color that I’d used on the sentiment…

You can see from the photos that I did the same leaf image on the front of my envelopes – and added the plaid to the envelope flaps.

So – I got six super-cute leafy-plaid thank you cards – and so can you!

And – if you need those six thank you notes for yourself, then you’re done!

BUT.

Maybe you need a sweet little gift?

If that’s the case, then you can decorate the front/top of a Mini Paper Pumpkin Box to coordinate with one of the cards!

I picked my fave color scheme – that plaid just gets me every time! – and decorated the top.  I added a second Love of Leaves sentiment in Misty Moonlight – and you can see that I used a Magenta Madness mat.  Other than that – the box is decorated in exactly the same way as the cards!

If I DO decide to gift this – I’ll stack the cards in the box with the “inspiration” card on top!

Et Voila!  I love love love this Love of Leaves Bundle…

…and I love how this design just shows off the Plaid Tidings 6″ x 6″ DSP to perfection. You could make gifts for all your friends and family – and use every gorgeous pattern!  You could even use the other small Love of Leaves sentiments on the front – mix and match!

What a fun gift, huh?

I hope you like – and will be thinking about all the cards you can make with the Love of Leaves bundle and Plaid Tidings 6″ x 6″DSP!

  2. WOW!!!! What an awesome set of cards Mary 🙂 Love all the plaids you used on them. I may be CASEing this one for sure

  3. What an awesome set of cards! Love the way you layered the leaf die cuts. Fantastic! 🙂

  4. Shari

Mary you did make it your own by making a cute little box to gift your cards. Why remake the wheel when someone already did. Just add a vehicle to carry it.

Thank you so much, Shari! Appreciate those kind words! 🙂

  5. To cop your comment…..WOWZA! I saw the first card and thought, “how lovely, but other than the plaid and the leaves, the color isn’t Mary”. Then I saw the other cards. What a fabulous way to use this die set and the plaids. Must copy this idea. I have lots of cards to make and send when I get done canning, baking, freezing. Great gift too.
