Finn Fan Fix
So – the other day, Amy sent me a link to a little video on YouTube. It features a dog playing with a big ball – like…a fitness or yoga ball.
I watched it and thought that maybe Finn would enjoy a big ball game.
As I watched further – it turns out that this was a training session-lite for a game that is new to the US called Treiball. (sounds like Try-ball, sort of).
It’s a game/sport where dogs herd big balls instead of sheep.
I promise – balls are WAY easier to keep around than sheep. Trust me on this one!

So now I’ve decided Finny and I need to learn to play Treiball!
We started the basics yesterday. I hold out my hand – and say “Touch”. He bonks my palm with his nose – I click my clicker and say “yes!!” and give him a treat.
Guess how fast the treat-monger figured this out??
Uhm…FAST!
Next up? Touch a mat on the floor with his paws.
I guess I need to go get more little tiny training treats!

That is a great card kit! Love the colors and designs, great alternative project too! Huh…had no idea that the video that I sent over was a training video. I thought that it was just a dog playing, apparently I didn’t actually listen…just watched. 😉 Can’t wait to hear how Finn likes the herding ball! 🙂

oh I love this new adventure with Finn-y!! I admit I have wondered why you have a shepherd…..natural herder…..and not be raising sheep!! (smile) This will be FUN…..keep us posted!!
Well – to be honest I don’t know if he’s going to “get” it very easily. He tends to try to “herd” from the front! LOL. I got him cuz my friend got his year-older sister and I fell in love!! STILL don’t want any sheep! We’ll see how Treiball goes for us. Thanks, Faith! 🙂
