Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Framed Sending Hugs

Happy Friday!  Whoo-hoo!  Hope you’ve had a good week and have something fun planned for the weekend.  We’re supposed to get chilly again and some more rain.  Yeah?!?

Oh well – good weekend to plant my new seed starter!  Yep – got me a light stand and seed starter and SEEDS!!  Time to get those transplants started!

Now – on to the card, since that’s why you’re here, right?  I mean…AFTER you read the Finn Fan Fix.  Yes.  I know you check that first!  It’s okay to admit it. 😉

I pulled out the new perfectly Framed stamp set which coordinates with the carryover Ornate Frames Dies (remember it from the 2019 Holiday Catalog?).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.

And the color scheme is from the Color Throwdown challenge.

I started with some 2019-2021 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper in Pretty Peacock that I matted on Crushed Curry for the card front.

The art panel is a piece of Whisper White – that I corner-rounded with my Detailed Trio Punch.

Using the floral images from the Perfectly Framed stamp set, I stamped Pretty Peacock leaves – in two different designs!  The “fern-y” image, I stamped and then stamped again without re-inking.  I also added some Crushed Curry flowers – big ones and the small clusters and Night of Navy “dots”.

See the foil leaves?  Those are from the Noble Peacock Foil Sheets – cut with the berry dies in the new Birthday Dies. The Birthday dies are part of the 2020 Coordinating Products Release coming to you on 4 Feb!

I adhered the four berries to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Then I used some Glue Dots to adhere a length of Crushed Curry 3/8″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.

The sentiment, from Perfectly Framed, is stamped in Pretty Peacock on Whisper White and cut out with an Ornate Frames die.  I also cut a Crushed Curry and Night of Navy frame.  The Night of Navy frame is adhered to the Crushed Curry frame with Liquid Glue.

I popped the sentiment onto the stacked mats with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added the whole thing to the card front with more Dimensionals.  A few Pretty Peacock gems from the Noble Peacock Rhinestons pack finished off the card front.

On the inside, I added another Perfectly Framed sentiment in Pretty Peacock on Whisper White.  Then I added more florals in Night of Navy, Pretty Peacock and Crushed Curry.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Crushed Curry mat and into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the Perfectly Framed florals on the front…

…and a little more Pretty Peacock 2019-2021 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is such pretty stamp set – the Perfectly Framed sentiments that coordinate with the Ornate Frames Dies.  The fact that there are also pretty florals makes this a wonderful “full-service” stamp set!  I hope you like! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

Hmmm.

He really –  really! – wanted to take Mr. Octopus to bed with him.

I had to tell him that Mr. Octopus could not spend the night inside his bedroom.

He wasn’t impressed with my rationale – telling me that of COURSE he wouldn’t chew on him all night long and tear him to bits.

Told him I was born at night – but…it wasn’t LAST night.

😉

  1. Pretty card! Love the layering and the colors! 🙂 Poor Finn…I am sure that he only wanted to keep Mr Octopus safe from the mean cat. He was not going to chew him up, I’m sure of that. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Well – I suspect he’s afraid that Katy probably gnaws on Mr. O in the night…. excellent point, Amy! 🙂 Thanks much!

  2. Oh, if Finn only knew how he takes precedence over the beginning of your post…Finn for precedent 🙂 If only Mr. Octopus knew he had a savior 🙂 Well, let me see if I can save my reply from being deleted…your card is the star of the post! I keep thinking I have to get those dies but there’s so much more that I want/need! Have a great weekend.

    • stampsnlingers

LOL- you SAVED yourself, Karen! 😉 He’s a real protector of sea life, that’s for sure. Get the Ornate Frames – they’re great dies and going to be around for a while! Whoo-hoo!! Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  3. Wrong! I read about the card first, THEN allow myself the Finn Fix!
Lovely card, although I don’t think I would have thought about using that color combo. Guess that is why there are challenges.
I particularly like the framed sentiment and the rounded corners on the front art piece. Inspires me to use my ornate frames more often!

Whoo-hoo!! Someone who looks at the card FIRST! Yeah! Thank you so much, Julie! 🙂

  4. Susan K

What a gorgeous card! All that layering behind that pretty font/sentiment calls my name! So so pretty.
Poor Finn. He needs company at night…and maybe a little chewing time!
