Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Wrapped in Plaid Ho Ho Ho!

Morning, y’all!  Are you checking out the Year-End-Closeout bargains and determining which of the Retiring and Discontinuing goodies you need to add to your stash before they’re gone?  I hope so – don’t be risking losing them forever! 🙂

My card today uses a stamp set and punch that IS carrying over – the Perfectly Plaid Bundle with its Pine Tree Punch!  But – when next you see it – it will NOT be a bundle – and you will NOT be able to save 10% on the purchase price.  So…if you don’t have it yet…get it before the end of the Holiday catalog!

I mean – unless you LIKE spending extra money??

No?

Didn’t think so!

I used the bundle and combined it with the seriously gorgeous Wrapped in Plaid DSP.  Which is NOT carrying over – which means you MUST get it before 2 Jan (or before it sells out!).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Global Design Project sketch challenge.

And the Christmas-y colors are from the CAS Colours & Sketches color challenge!

I started with some Cherry Cobbler paper from the Wrapped in Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP that I matted on Gold Foil for the card front.

Using SNAIL – I laid down a length of Shaded Spruce/Gold 3/8″ Striped Ribbon, that I secured in the back with Glue Dots.

I cut two Stitched Shapes squares from a piece of Whisper White – and two Gold Foil scalloped squares using the Layering Squares Dies.  I adhered them together with Liquid Glue – then adhered them to the card front.

I punched a Pine Tree Punch shape from two different – but similar! – designs in the Wrapped in Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP.  Then I popped them both on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the Perfectly Plaid sentiment in Versamark Ink on a piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock and sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Then I heat embossed it with my Heat Tool.

I cut the sentiment with a Stitched Rectangle Die and used Liquid Glue and a single Dimensional in the center to adhere it over the Pine Trees.

I added a few Shaded Spruce gems from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones and the card front was done.

On the inside, I used my Stamparatus to add a Cherry Cobbler plaid tree from Perfectly Plaid in the middle of a Whisper White panel.  When it was good and dry, I inked the second sentiment from Perfectly Plaid in Versamark and stamped it over top.  I heat embossed it in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Then I added a single Shaded Spruce Noble Peacock Rhinestone.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Gold Foil mat and into my Shaded Spruce card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Cherry Cobbler plaid tree on the front…

…and one of the pretty plaids on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  This Perfectly Plaid bundle – with a Pine Tree Punch (loves me a good punch!) is absolutely one of my favorite things and I am SO happy that it’s carrying over!  I hope you’ve already got it – but if you don’t – be sure to pick it up with the 10% bundle price.  And do NOT miss getting a goodly supply of the gorgeous Wrapped in Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP before it is GONE, Baby, GONE!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Finn took a little limelight-break today!

He allowed me to share a couple of sweet photos with you of a tiny human and one of my favorite people!

You guys might recall that a few weeks back I put together the super cool Countdown to Christmas Project Kit (which – OBTW – we’ll see again next Fall – YEAH!!!)?  And we talked about what kinds of things to put in a 2″ x 2″ box that was suitable for a 1+ year old.

Well – I got it pulled off.  I DID do some boxes for mom and dad – seemed fair!

So…yesterday I got some photos of young Nehemiah Walsh and his first Countdown to Christmas calendar!

Behold!

Seriously?  Is he not adorable??!

And – he comes by his ginger-ness quite honestly.  Here he is with his Dad (the aforementioned one-of-my favorite people!).

So…given the smiles and the fact that Jenna told me she’d been looking for a calendar and that this one is “perfect” – I’m going to take them at their word and stick this one in the WIN column!

AND – it’s easy-peasy to put together?!?  Score!

  1. Such a pretty card! Perfect colors and design. Sweet picture of the little with the calendar too! I’m sure that he loved it! 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Appears that he did! And I’m SURE he loved…banana puffs? And socks. Nothing a little likes more than socks, right?!? LOL. Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. Oh, my goodness…how much sweetness can a person stand! First of all, I love your card the way you designed it and the papers, of course! I’m glad the punch and stamp set are carrying over too. Second, what an adorable child and he has one of Perry’s favorite names and color of hair. Finn must love your favorite peeps too. What a smile. You made my morning…thank you!

    • stampsnlingers

He is ridiculously cute – and that smile is pretty much “him” – he’s a very happy child! Thanks very much, Karen – I’m also pretty happy that this set is carrying over!! 🙂

  3. Faith Simpson

oh gosh, Mary….your card today uses one of my favorite sets to use when….oops….I forgot to make a card for…..and I can do one fairly quickly!! I’m so glad it will carry over.
AND I got a video from my granddaughter when Micah (3 year old great-grandson) was looking into drawer number one of the advent calendar. He was SO excited, and they LOVE the calendar. Stampin Up hit it out of the park with that project kit!!
So sweet that you got pictures of that adorable baby with the calendar you made!! Just makes our hearts happy, doesn’t it??

    • stampsnlingers

It really did make me smile, Faith – that calendar is just gorgeous – and I am SO happy we’ll see it again next Season, aren’t you? AND the Perfectly Plaid set, too! YEAH!! Thanks so much, Faith! 🙂

  4. Kathy Fennell

I love this stamp set bundle one of my fav’s, great card Mary! Out of the smiles and eye’s of babes that say’s it all! Good job Mary you scored, he looks very happy indeed! 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Kathy – it tickled me to see him smiling so big!! 🙂

  5. Jeanne

Very cute card – love the plaid trees! Thanks for joining us this week at CC&S!

  6. Carole

What an adorable little one! I did not get the calendar box the first time around, but now I think I will. By the way, please share with all of us who are wondering, what we could put in those boxes for a wee little one. I’m sure I’m not the only one who would like to know.

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – it is really a great kit – no stamping required at all! So…for “his” boxes – I had little tiny Christmas socks – one pair rolled up around a Lindor (for parents) truffle will fit in a box. So…six pairs in the set – six boxes. I also bought some Gerber apple slices and banana puff things and some biscuits of some sort. Put a few of those in baggies and tied with some ribbon. Also got a couple of pacifiers that I put in a baggie with ribbon. Pretty boring stuff…but…ONE year old! So…the fun is in the opening. Right? Please say yes! 😉

  7. The trees look great in that festive plaid! Thanks for making CC&S part of your crafting time! 🙂
What did you use for the stars on top of the trees? I’m nearly out of the shiny gold star-shaped brads I bought about 10 years ago (yes really) and have been looking for a suitable replacement.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Patricia! Appreciate you stopping by! The gold stars on the top are part of The Most Wonderful Time Product Medley – love them! They’re the perfect size!! Hopefully they’ll come again as a stand-along embellishment! 🙂

  8. Congrats on the #GDP218 Win! Great card! I love how you did the inside😊

  9. Samantha Johnson

What a lovely Christmas card, thanks for playing along with us at CC&S.
