My card today is decidedly NOT a holiday card – it’s another Sneak Peek of a great new bundle in the 2020 January-June Mini Catalog. This one is called the Mountain Air stamp set and it will be bundled with the Majestic Mountain Dies. This is a cool set – the stamp set is one of the “Reversibles” – like the Cup of Cheer set in the current 2019 Holiday Catalog. Take a look-see:
This is a bit of a CASE of a card in the new catalog, but the layout is inspired by the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.
And this seemed a perfect masculine card – so…the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge made perfect sense!
I started with a piece of Balmy Blue card stock that I embossed in the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder and matted on Mossy Meadow for the card front.
On a piece of Mossy Meadow, I stamped the long tree-line image from the new Mountain Air stamp set (coming on 4 Jan) and then I cut it with the matching edgelit die from the bundled Majestic Mountain Die set.
On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the mountain range image in Night of Navy. I used the “detailed” side. Then I cleaned the stamp and turned it over on the block. I inked the now-smooth image in Balmy Blue, stamped it off once on scrap paper and then stamped it over the first image.
I cut the mountain range with the matching die in the bundle.
To create the art panel, I inked the smooth-side mountain image in Night of Navy and stamped it off once, then I stamped it on a rectangle of Whisper White. Then I inked it in Highland Heather – stamped it off once – and stamped it over the Night of Navy mountains – offsetting it a bit. I offset it and stamped it a second time without re-inking.
I sponged some Balmy Blue across the top of the panel and added a few birds in Balmy Blue. The sun is made from Crushed Curry – I stamped the detailed image in full strength and then added the smooth-side image in stamped off once Crushed Curry. I punched it out with the 1″ Circle Punch – then I added it with Stampin’ Dimensionals!
I adhered the Night of Navy die-cut mountains and then the Mossy Meadow mountains over top with Liquid Glue and matted the whole panel on Mossy Meadow. I popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the sentiment, I stamped the double-tree image from Mountain Air in Mossy Meadow on Whisper White – then added the sentiment over top in Night of Navy. I cut it with the die in Majestic Mountain.
I wound a couple loops of Mossy Meadow Linen Thread from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo, twisted it into a figure-8 and adhered it with a Glue Dot. Then I popped the sentiment tree on with some Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done!
On the inside, I added a second Mountain Air sentiment in Night of Navy to a Whisper White panel. At the bottom I adde a couple of trees in Mossy Meadow!
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Balmy Blue card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Mountain Air trees on the front in Mossy Meadow…
…and the Night of Navy and stamped-off-once Balmy Blue mountain range on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! These reversible stamp images in the Mountain Air set are so cool! I really enjoyed playing with them to create these scenes. And – it’s awesome that we can so easily cut the mountains and trees with the matching Majestic Mountain Dies! I hope you like – and yes…I KNOW you do and are adding this bundle to your list!

Whatcha got there, Finny, that apparently tastes so good!?
Hmmm – looks a lot like the Dad’s eggplant parmesan container…
No need to look guilty, bud – I know he gave it to you.
You used “the lips” on him, didn’t you!?
The Dad has no defenses against “the lips”. With – or without – Mr. Octopus!

Love your card! The colors and the layering are perfect, great design! Poor Finn…and dad, busted red pawed. 😉
Again! 😉 Thanks, Amy! 🙂
That is a very interesting set. I do like the purple mountain majesties but I wish they had included amber waves of grain. You know what I’m up to 🙂 I love seeing Finn’s antics.
LOL – I DO! Some waving amber would be great! Thanks, Karen! 🙂
Oh that dog❤ And the cards not to bad either.!!!
He’s a card. Uhm… 🙂 thanks, Genie! 🙂
Wow, Mary, what a stunning card! I love the colours you’ve used for those mountains. The visual effect is one of great distance and depth. Love it! You’ve really used that Mountain Air set beautifully. Setting the stamped and coloured piece against the embossed base adds a wonderful bit of texture as well, along with that twisted Mossy Meadow linen thread detail. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
Thanks, Heidi – took some inspiration from the catalog – they’re so good! Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
