Stampin’ Up! Versailles Gathered Leaves and Boughs

Good morning!  By the time you read this – Finn, Wayne and I’ll be headed to NC to winterize our RV trailer – it’s Wayne’s “home away from home” when he goes to work on the rental house.  Since Father Winter is looming down and the freeze warnings are flying around – seemed like a good time to be sure it was ready to get thru winter without frozen….anything! 🙂

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live, I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me!  If not, but you’d like to see some of the techniques we played with – and the card we put together….here’s the replay!

I used die cuts from the Gathered Leaves AND Beautiful Boughs sets and a fun “napkin” coloring technique.  The “watercolored” die cuts were paired up with the Very Versailles stamp set (from the Annual Catalog) and a little Come to Gather DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s TGIF sketch challenge!

I started by stamping the script image from Very Versailles in stamped-off-once Crumb Cake a few times on a piece of Come To Gather DSP – then I matted the panel on Cajun Craze for the card front.

With SNAIL – and a couple Glue Dots on the back – I adhered a strip of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon around the end of the panel.  I wrapped a length of Cajun Craze Linen Thread (Come To Gather Ribbon Combo) and a piece of Mossy Meadow Linen Thread (Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo) around the Burlap Ribbon.

I created the Beautiful Boughs and Gathered Leaves using plain ole dinner napkins – check out the video to see how! – then I used my Aqua Painters to color them.  I saw this technique on a Splitcoast Stampers tutorial by Dave Brethauer and thought it looked fun!

For the leaves, I used Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie.  For the boughs – Mossy Meadow and Old Olive.  I lightly painted them all with some Frost White Shimmer Paint, too!

I adhered all the elements to the card front with Liquid Glue.

For the loops behind the sentiment – I pulled some threads from a piece of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon and used Liquid Glue to adhere them in a loopy way.

I used my Stamparatus to stamp the Very Versailles sentiment in Cajun Craze on some of the Come to Gather DSP and cut it with a Stitched Nested Labels Die.  Then I popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a little bow from the Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow Linen Thread and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Then I finished it off with a few Pumpkin Pie gems from the Holiday Basic Rhinestones pack.

On the inside, I added some stamped-off-once Crumb Cake script from Very Versailles on a Whisper White panel.  I added a small Peaceful Bough image in stamped-off-THREE-times Old Olive.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cajun Craze mat and into my Crushed Curry card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more script and boughs on the front…

…and more Come to Gather DSP (with a little script from Very Versailles on it!) on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Every time I look out my window at this time of year – I see this combination of Fall leaves and pine boughs!  So….it’s perfect that I could re-create that with my Peaceful Boughs bundle and Gathered Leaves dies, don’t you think?  I also really love the vintage-y addition of the script from the Very Versailles stamp set.  I hope you like!
