Stampin’ Up! Curvy Keepsake Tags Tags and Tags!!

Wow.  Can you even believe it’s Friday again!  Something has happened to the space-time continuum, I’m pretty sure.  A shift in the Force.  And warp in the weft.  Something!  Time.  Is.  Flying!

A few weeks back, I did a Saturday evening video sharing a whole stable full of Mini Curvy Keepsake treat boxes – from wintery to Thanksgiving-y to Halloween-y….Click the pic to go to that post and see the video, if you like!

Today, based on my friend Amy Koender’s adorable reindeer that she made this week – and a picture of a spooky Halloween cakeball I saw on Pinterest – I created a NEW member of my Mini Curvy Keepsake Stable – with the help of an easy tag from the Tags Tags Tags Bundle.  Take a look-see:

Ladies and gents….I present…The One-Eyed Purple People Eater! LOL

And he’s super easy!

I started with a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock that I cut with the Mini Curvy Keepsake die to make the treat box.

Then I embossed it in the Hammered 3D Embossing Folder.  You’ll need to run the die cut thru twice to get the whole thing embossed…

Then I folded it all together and got ready to decorate him.  Her?

The eye is a mix-mash of die cuts from various sets in my stash.

His blood-shot eye is a flower from the Perennial Birthday set – stamped in Poppy Parade on Whisper White – then cut with a button die from the Arts & Crafts Die set.

Next is a Basic Black 1/2″ Circle Punch – then a Granny Apple Green Googly Eye embellishment.

I adhered the pieces and parts together – sort of wonky-ly cuz…you know.  One Eyed Purple People Eater – gotta be a little wonky!  Then I added it with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  Ha – didn’t think I’d get one in, didja?!

His eyelash is a short piece of Granny Apple Green “grass” from the Wiggly Bugs dies, he’s got ears from the Tasteful Background Die set, his “horns” (in Gorgeous Grape) are actually “quotes” from the Hand Lettered Prose dies.  His fangs – I feel confident that in order to be a “people eater” he’d have to have some teeth! – are Whisper White leftovers from the Tasteful Background die set.  All stuck on with Liquid Glue!

Now – his hindend is also decorated – with a Granny Apple Green “tail” – cut with a branch die in the Mini Curvy Keepsake set.  It’s adhered with Liquid Glue and has a Gorgeous Grape gem from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones at the top.

Hey!  Have YOU ever seen a One-Eyed Purple People Eater?  PROVE that he doesn’t have a tail like that?! 😉

The tag is from the Tags Tags Tags stamps set.  I stamped it in Granny Apple Green on Whisper White and cut it with the matching die in the bundled Trio of Tags Set.  I also cut two little jack-o-lanterns (in Trio of Tags) in Gorgeous Grape and stuck them on with Liquid Glue.  Then I added a Gorgeous Grape Noble Peacock Rhinestone.

I ran a length of 3/8″ Tricolor Ribbon thru the top and tied it off with some White Solid Baker’s Twine – looping the tag in as I tied the bow.

And – that was it!

Et Voila! A new – and uber-spooky addition to my little gang!

It’s fun to look thru all the tools in your toolbox and come up with fun ways to decorate these fun Mini Curvy Keepsake boxes!  They can be snowmen, OEPPE’s, Reindeer, and Fall Favors!

Go ahead…. think outside the…Mini-Curvy-Keepsake Box!  I hope you like!

Happiness came home – with big feet and a big nose.

  1. What a cute Curvy Keepsake box! Love your little green-eyed monster. 🙂 Awww…look at how little Finn was back then!

    • stampsnlingers

Wasn’t he?? He’s like…three and a half times bigger than that now! He’s a Full Grown Man!! 🙂 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. Happy 3 year Finny anniversary! He has brought a lot of joy to you both.
Very creative! Very adorable Purple People Eater. You are not old enough to remember the song, but he has one horn, and he flies. Where are his wings??
Just had to give you a bit of a rough time about that, simply because I am not creative enough to have though about making a purple people eater! Way to go! Now, who is going to be receiving these cute boxes??

    • stampsnlingers

Yes. he surely has. And continues to do so! Hmm – had forgotten about the wings…uhm…they’re tucked up in “land” configuration? That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! Thanks much, Julie! 🙂

  3. Wow, creating a purple people eater involved a lot of supplies and work…great job. I always wondered what one looked like. Happy birthday, Finny.

    • stampsnlingers

That’s how they look – EXACTLY! 😉 The cool thing is that you could dig around in your stash and come up with all sorts of ways to make him one-eyed and fang-y! Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  4. Karen

This curvy keepsake box has Halloweeny all over it!! Fantastic!! Love it!! Keep them coming!! WOW! three years already. Where does the time go? He has grown into such a handsome young man. It has been fun watching him grow.

    • stampsnlingers

I know – it seems to be whizzing by – all of it, on every level! Thank you so much, Karen – glad that you liked it! 🙂

  5. Faith Simpson

oh mercy me…..you made me laugh with your one-eyed purple people eater….well, THAT was very creative….especially the blood shot eye part…..haha.
Finn was SUCH a cute baby….oh my…..and I’ll bet in his heart he still would like to be held like a baby.

    • stampsnlingers

He WOULD! He still thinks he’s a lap dog – we try to accommodate him but…there’s a LOT of him these days! Glad I could give you a chuckle, Faith! 🙂

  6. Gerri K

LOVE the purple people eater!!! What an imagination!!
Awww, Finn was so cute. Still is, just bigger.

    • stampsnlingers

I know – I really love that picture of him on the car seat! So sweet! Thanks so much, Gerri! 🙂

  7. Lisa A Crosby

Aww, look how small Finn was. He was adorable then and he is still adorable! Happy “Birthday” Finn!

    • stampsnlingers

Right? He was so cute – is it any wonder we brought him home?!? Thanks so much, Lisa! 🙂
