Stampin’ Up! Yummy Night Before Christmas

Good Sunday to y’all!  Hope you’re enjoying your weekend!

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live, I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me!  If not, but you’d like to watch the replay – here ’tis!!

I pulled out the Yummy Christmas stamp set – and the matching Cuckoo Clock Dies (this die set is available in the Annual Catalog – bundled with the Cuckoo For You stamp set….so you’ll get a lot of bang for the 10%-savings-buck!).  I set some of the trees against a little Night Before Christmas DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Global Design Project challenge.

And I played along with the As You See It Theme challenge!

I started with a piece of Very Vanilla and matted it on Mossy Meadow for the card front.  I also matted a strip of Cherry Cobbler paper from the Night Before Christmas DSP on some Mossy Meadow and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the holly sprig image from Yummy Christmas in Tuxedo Black twice under the matted DSP panel.  I used my Light and Dark Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends to color the images.

The art panel is a square of Very Vanilla, embossed in the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder, matted on Mossy Meadow and popped onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a seperate piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped three trees from Yummy Christmas and three more of the holly images in Tuxedo Black.  I cut the trees and holly with the dies in the Cuckoo Clock Dies.  I colored all the images with Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow and Soft Suede Blends – plus the Dark Pineapple Punch Blend (for some of the ornaments).  I used a Blender Pen to color the “garland” with Golden Glitz Delicata Ink.

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to tuck the die cut holly berries under the art panel.

With two lengths of Linen Thread, I tied a big, loose simple bow and adhered it to the card front with a Glue Dot.  I adhered the three trees together with Liquid Glue and popped them onto the embossed square with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiments from Yummy Christmas in Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow then fussy cut them.  I edged the strips with my Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Marker – then adhered the three strips to the card with Liquid Glue.

I added a gold faceted star (from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley) to each tree and a few Gold Glitter Enamel Dots (from the new Christmastime is Here Suite – which you’ll be able to pick up on 1 Nov!) – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added the Yummy Christmas holly berry image to the corners of a Very Vanilla panel in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored them with my Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends.  I stuck a tiny Gold Glitter Enamel Dot by each holly sprig.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Yummy Christmas holly sprig on the front…

…and some more of the Night Before Christmas DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love it when Stampin’ Up! gives us a new stamp set – like Yummy Christmas – that just so happens to coordinate with a die set we might already have!  And – even if we don’t – it’s a die that we can get with another stamp set (like the Cuckoo For You set and bundled Cuckoo Clock Dies!) AND save some dough! Any way you look at it – the Yummy Christmas and Cuckoo Clock Dies work perfectly to make a fun Christmas card, don’t you think?  I hope you like!

    Mary,
Beautiful card! Your collage cards are great! I missed your facebook live but caught the video this morning.

  3. Lovely card! I really like the layers of holly and trees. I think the only thing I would change is to use some PLAID DSP instead of the plainer one. However, that might make it too busy. Will try one and see. Thanks.

WOW! I love this card, Mary. You’ve ticked all my personal boxes: the colourway, the layering, the texturing with the folder, the follow-through to the inside and envelope… just wow! Thank you for joining us again at As You See It Challenge

  5. What a lovely creation, Mary….the Christmas tree and all the holly accents add up to a sweet confection for sure! Congrats on your GDP win too….they’re hard ones to get! So happy that you shared this pretty Christmas card with us at As You See It this week!

Mary, I really admire the way you are so detailed in your work, from all the elements on the card front to the inside of the card, right to the envelope! This is a beautiful example of the care you take to add the love of creating to everything you do! Thanks for contributing it to our gallery at As You See It Challenges!

Thank you so much for the kind words! I appreciate them – and the time you took to come by! – very much!! 🙂

  7. Joanne James

I love these little whimsy Christmas trees in this set Mary and you’ve done a great job of presenting them front and centre with not a gingerbread house in sight! All of that holly adds wonderful festive embellishment too – a great card, inside and out! Thanks for playing along with our tree-themed challenge over at AYSI this week!
