Stampin’ Up! So Many Stars Before Christmas

Good Tuesday!  Hope everyone’s week is going well.  We’re trying to finish up the 2018 taxes – so…that sort of sucks.  But – we’re taking them to AL to the accountant on Thursday so I guess they’ll be “done” then! LOL!

My card today is a quick and easy one – thanks to the Night Before Christmas Memories & More Card Pack and the So Many Stars Bundle!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is – loosely! – based on the sketch from the TGIF Challenge this week!

And I decided it fit pretty well with The Paper Players CAS challenge…

I started with one of the wonderful Night Before Christmas Memories & More Cards & Envelopes for the card base, and one of the smaller cards in the Night Before Christmas Memories & More Card Pack.  I adhered that small card to a Shaded Spruce mat and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Next up, I pulled out the So Many Stars bundle – that includes the stamp set and the amazing Stitched Stars Dies – and some Gold Foil.  I cut a solid star and a detailed star from the Gold Foil and adhered them together with Liquid Glue.

I cut a couple of smaller stars – one from Shaded Spruce and one from Cherry Cobbler – and two detailed Gold Foil stars – and created those stacks as well.  Then I adhered those stars to the Gold Star with Liquid Glue.

I stuck a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the star-stack and used them to wind some of the gold tinsel from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley.

I used some Glue Dots to adhere two lengths of Cherry Cobbler 3/8″ Striped Ribbon.  Then I used a couple more Glue Dots to adhere the stacked stars over top.

I finished off with a few gold stars from the Most Wonderful Time Medley – including one in the middle of the stacked stars!

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from So Many Stars in Cherry Cobbler to a Very Vanilla panel.  Then I added some stars in Golden Glitz Delicata and Shaded Spruce inks.  Over the sentiment, I added the scattered stars image (also from So Many Stars) in Golden Glitz Delicata Ink.

I used one of the large cards from the Night Before Christmas Memories & More Card Pack as a mat and adhered the panel to it and then inside the card base with Liquid Glue, and the card was done!

The Night Before Christmas Memories & More Cards & Envelopes include already-decorated envelopes – but…I added some stars and scattered-stars in Golden Glitz on the front…

…and on the flap.

Et Voila!  These Night Before Christmas Memories & More Cards & Envelopes are such a fun starting point for so many cards – especially at Christmas (but…don’t forget patriotic cards, too – add a little Night of Navy or Blueberry Bushel!) and when you ALSO use the Night Before Christmas Memories & More Card Pack – then the “easy” just got “peasy”!! 😉  And, I think the So Many Stars Bundle is SO pretty with all the wonderful images and sentiments and the gorgeous Stitched Stars Dies!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Finn hates when one of the ponies rubs their neck on the stall door.  Or…their butt on the wall.  Or…make any noise whatsoever in their stalls.

It makes him crazy and he boing-boing-boings to the front of the offender’s stall, barking ferociously.

It’s quite menacing.

They are completely unimpressed and they ignore his annoyance COMPLETELY.

I’m sure that’s demoralizing for him! 😉

Out in the pasture, Cady – the younger pony – is wont to spend a considerable amount of time rubbing various parts of her body on almost any tree she can find.

She’s itchy, okay?  She can’t help it! And no – that tree does NOT make her butt look big.  It actually IS big – it’s part of her DNA and charm! 😉

As I sit on the porch after letting everyone out…I can tell when she’s “doing it”.

Yes – he’s “pointing” at her.

So…I holler….”CADY!!!  Get off that tree!!!”

It’s quite menacing.

She is completely unimpressed and she ignores my annoyance COMPLETELY.

It’s quite demoralizing for me! 😉

But – Finn, in a show of solidarity (and because he’s always looking for an excuse to boing-bounce-bark) he goes flying to the fence barking.

Guess – go ahead, guess!! – how much she cares about THAT!??

Yea.  Not.  Even.  A.  Bit.

😉

  1. I think it is great to be entertained by the animals around us! Kalvin, my neighbor’s dog, barks at the birds, and they pay him no never mind. He is funny to watch.
Very pretty card. I didn’t order those cards and envelopes, but maybe I will have to do that. Thanks for sharing.

Buck used to bark at the birds – and race after them. And airplanes, but…we tried to keep that sort of quiet! They’re always good for a smile, that’s for sure! Thanks, Julie! 🙂

  2. I love your card! The layering is perfect and your metallic star is fantastic! Poor Finn…he’s trying to “help” as much as he can, but those darn horses just don’t listen!! 🙂

He gets no respect. NONE! 🙁 It’s enough to make him want to turn in his Dog-Card! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  3. I love what you did with this card. That ribbon makes me drool every time I see it used but it looks especially great with the star. Those envelopes are really cool. I hope you’re a winner.,,it’s quite the dog and pony show 😉 Have a blessed day.
