Stampin’ Up! Parcels & Petals Gift Box and Birthday Card

Good morning, y’all!  Welcome back to the work-week.
Bleh.

I’ve got a cute little birthday card to share with you – this was one of our make-and-take’s from our team meeting yesterday.  It uses the Parcels & Petals stamp set and bundled Perfect Parcels Dies.  Amy provided us with an example – using the Bird Banter DSP.  We sort of went our own way and used the Prrssed Petals Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see at our projects!

Now – I’m just teasing you with the box – cuz I’m not going to cover it in this post.

I’m so mean! 😉

I promise – we’ll make a box in a Saturday video – it’ll be a heckuva lot easier to show than to tell!

For today, let’s look at the Birthday card!

I started with some Pressed Petals Specialty DSP and matted it on Very Vanilla for the card front.

Next up, I used the pretty filigree die in the Perfect Parcel Die set to cut a shape in Mossy Meadow.  I cut it in half and adhered each piece to the card front with Liquid Glue – separating them to make it “bigger”!

On a Very Vanilla panel, I stamped the flower image from Parcels & Petals in Rococo Rose, then added a few leaves in Mossy Meadow.  Then I cut the image with the largest circle Stitched Shapes Framelits die and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Crumb Cake, I stamped the Parcels & Petals sentiment in Mossy Meadow and cut it with the Timeless Label Punch.  Then I added “faux” stitches with my Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Marker.

I added the sentiment with a little Liquid Glue and a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I added some Rococo Rose 2019-2021 In Color Faceted Dots and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added more of the Parcels & Petals image in Rococo Rose and leaves in Mossy Meadow to a Very Vanilla panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Very Vanilla mat and into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensional and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Parcels & Petals flowers on the front…

…and some more of the gorgeous Pressed Petals Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is a really pretty set – and the Perfect Parcel Die set is a wonderful complement to the Parcels & Petals stamp set.  I particularly love it when paired with the Pressed Petal Specialty DSP, don’t you?  I hope you like!

P.S.  We’ll look at the box this weekend in a video, shall we? 🙂

New 3D Embossing Folder Plate Now Available!

The new 3D Embossing Folder Plate (item 149658) is now available to order! It’s designed to work with our new-style 3D embossing folders (which are thinner than our old-style Dynamic folders).

You can click on the picture above and open the flyer – then print it and keep it by your embossing machine and new 3D Embossing Folder Plate.  It’s got your new “sandwich” information right on it!

Remember that carryover 3D embossing folders will not be available to order at the start of the new catalog but I’ll let you know when they’re available to order.

Also keep in mind that we expect to receive staggered plate shipments in all markets during June and July as we build inventory. Which means, you may experience periods of time when it is unavailable to order if inventory is depleted; it will become available to order again when inventory is replenished.

How to Use the New Plate

The new plate makes up the difference in measurement between our old-style Dynamic Folders and our new-style 3D Folders in most die-cutting machines. The 3D Embossing Folder Plate replaces the Standard Cutting Pads in your 3D embossing folder sandwich for continued high-quality emboss results.

To create your emboss sandwich:

  • Use a die-cutting & embossing machine platform as a base; no matter which machine you’re using, use the standard platform which comes with your machine.
  • Use the 3D Embossing Folder with your paper in the middle.
  • Then use the 3D Embossing Folder Plate on top.

Given the differences in machines and platforms, you may still have to add a shim to get your desired embossing results. (You can also spritz your paper before embossing to maximize your embossed impressions.)

Without the new 3D Embossing Folder Plate, you will need to use several shims with the Standard Cutting Pad in your 3D embossing folder sandwich, depending on the die-cutting & embossing machine you use. Most machines will need between three to five sheets of cardstock to shim. Please be careful in how you shim; start out with fewer sheets first, then add sheets to get your desired results.  Stampin’ Up! won’t be responsible for replacing products broken due to using a sandwich which is too thick for a machine.

Finn Fan Fix

This was Finn-y’s Sunday.

THIS was MY Sunday!

Yep.  It was Inkin’ Krew Meeting at my friend Sue’s house!  Our first meeting with Amy via Zoom!

First, we all chatted and ate our lunches in Sue’s really wonderful craft room.  And watched the hummingbirds out in her garden.

Then, we “dialed in” to the Zoom meeting and got all the news and updates.  And some free goodies from Amy!

Y’all remember that episode of Big Bang Theory where Sheldon was interacting with everyone thru his computer?

Wave, Amy….!!

Once the business was done, we “hung up” and made the projects Amy had worked up for us.  The Parcels & Petals Gift Box and Birthday Card (yes – the ones in my post!).

As always – we had a great time – learned some new techniques – and spent time with friends.  One of the BEST benefits of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.

Meanwhile – back at the house…

  1. Yes, I do love it! Great projects and a fun meeting. Sue certainly does have a wonderful craft room. Hummingbirds…what can beat that! Finny was missing his Mom me thinks.

Yep – I was a little mesmerized watching them! I think Finn…didn’t really miss me. I was all the way in the house before he even raised his head when I came home! Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

  2. Oh, love your colors more than the one that I made!! 🙂 I’m sort-of looking like Finn today…thinking that a day parked in the chair sounds perfect. 😉 And nice photo of my goofy face on screen. ha!

LOL – you’re welcome! I think we need to plan some days lounging on the balconey of the ship – what say you? With a cold drink! 🙂
