Stampin’ Up! Come Sail Away Sneak Peek for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Good mornin’, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Masculine projects!  We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

I decided to go with the Come Sail Away suite of products, making heavy use of the Smooth Sailing Dies and the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack.  And no stamp set or ink needed.  Take a look-see:

I based the layout – sort of loosely! – on the sketch challenge from FabFriday this week.

I started with a piece of Soft Suede card stock for the card front, and tried a fun little technique that I saw out on the interwebs somewhere.  Using the ship’s wheel die in the Smooth Sailing Die set, I cut 10 wheels.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere them smack to the card stock panel – making it look like the panel was embossed.  Cool, huh?

Then I matted the panel on Very Vanilla.

I cut a strip of Come Sail Away DSP and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Over top is a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon.

The two panels are from the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack.  I trimmed them both down a little and matted them on Very Vanilla.  The bottom panel is popped onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and I added the sentiment panel with Liquid Glue.

To ice the cake, I used a couple of Glue Dots to wind a little length of Nature’s Twine in a couple of loops.  Then I added another Soft Suede Smooth Sailing wheel with a little Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Finally, I added a heart-shaped Corrugated Element and a little Nature’s Twine bow.  And the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a strip of the Come Sail Away DSP to a Very Vanilla panel.  Using some of the leftover sticker pieces from the rope sticker die cuts (part of the Memories & More Card Pack!) I added them above and below the DSP.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Very Vanilla mat and into my Mossy Meadow card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a few more Memories & More stickers on the front…

…and some more Come Sail Away DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I can’t tell you how much I’m loving this Come Sail Away suite in the new catalog!  There are so many things to do with it – especially when you add in the wonderful Memories & More Card Pack goodies!  I hope you like – and are counting the days to 4 June!!

Now that you’ve seen my card, I hope you’ll take a little time to jump thru all the other projects we have to share. Click any name below, or you can use the Previous Blog button to jump to Jaimie’s page or the Next Blog button to see what Karen’s been up to!
