Stampin’ Up! Floral Tea Time Together Mother’s Day Card

Hey y’all!  Happy Monday!

Oxymoron aside – I do hope you’ve got an easy week ahead of you!

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me!  If not, but would like to watch the replay, here it is on YouTube!

I pulled out the Tea Together stamp set for this one – and the matching (and FREE during Sale-A-Bration!) Tea Time Framelits – to make this sweet Mother’s Day card.  And I figured nothing could be more “right” to put with this sweet set than some Country Floral embossing. Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches:

And the colors are thanks to the color challenge at Fab Friday.

I started with a piece of Petal Pink card stock and embossed it in the new (and FREE during Sale-A-Bration!) Country Floral Dynamic TIEF.  Then I used my Whisper White Craft Ink Pad and swiped it across the embossed – raised – design.

Then I let it dry.  And helped it with my Heat Tool on the low setting – that Craft ink is JUICY!!

Finally, I matted it on Mossy Meadow for the card front.

The next layer is a Calypso Coral doily that I cut with the largest dies in the Doily Builder Thinlits and adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

For the square, I cut the largest Stitched Shapes Framelits square from some Vellum card stock, embossed it in the Country Floral Dynamic TIEF, and used Liquid Glue to adhere it (making sure I only put glue where it would be covered by my tea pot).

The tea pot and flowers were next.  On Whisper White, in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, I stamped the tea pot, flowers and a couple of leaves from the Tea Together stamp set.

I colored the flowers with my Light and Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends (and I brushed the petals with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush) and the leaves with the Mossy Meadow Blends.  The tea pot is colored with Petal Pink Blends – concentrating mostly on the edges (so…NOT so much ink where the sentiment was going to go!).

Then I used my Stamparatus to line up and stamp the Tea Together sentiment in Mossy Meadow.

I cut everything out with the Tea Time Framelits and then used Liquid Glue to adhere the two small leaves.  I added the flower to the tea pot with Liquid Glue, then popped the whole thing onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A Frosted Flower Embellishment in Petal Pink finished off the card front!

On the inside, I used my Stamparatus and an acrylic sheet to add the second sentiment from Tea Together in Mossy Meadow, and the tea cup in Petal Pink to a Whisper White panel!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Calypso Coral card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Tea Together tea cup in Petal Pink – and a Mossy Meadow sentiment! – on the front…

…and I added some Floral Romance Specialty DSP in Petal Pink to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh my goodness – I already loved the Country Floral Dynamic TIEF – but…embossing card stock and then using the Whisper White ink….wow!  So pretty!  And it’s just the perfect accompaniment to the vintage-y and and sweet images in the Tea Together stamp set.  Hope you like!

Hint:  remember I’ve told you that the Tea Time Framelits WILL be in the next Annual Catalog!?  Well – remember that I ALSO told you that they will NOT be FREE then!  Right now, though….they ARE!!  So….get that $100 order in and snap these up for the low low price of zero…zilch…nada! 😉 Just sayin’….

  1. I really do think Finn should be a model for pet commercials or something! Your cards are always models and I can’t wait til my embossing folder gets here. I’ll be doing the “teared” version…lol…you are a hoot!

    • stampsnlingers

Well, “tore” it up, Karen! 😉 Thanks much – I keep waiting for the talent scouts to show up at the door! 🙂

  2. Sandra Warthen

Any mother would be pleased to get that card. That embossing folder is amazing. beautiful as always

  3. Such a pretty card! The colors are perfect and so are the layers. Great design! Love the side eye…he’s making sure that you don’t swipe his toy!! 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Yup – I’ve got designs on that reindeer and he knows it! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  4. Cindy H

Mary, I love your cards and the deats. But I REALLY LOVE my FInn Fix each day. In fact it is dissapointing on blog hop days to not hear from/about Finn. Thanks so much for sharing all you do. Stamp on!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Cindy! Blog Hop days DO give him a break from the stressors of being star! 🙂

  5. Beautiful card Mary! I love that set, I don’t have the EF, but seriously considering since I’ve seen your card! I’m with Cindy H, I have to have my ‘Finn’ fix every day but I do realize that he must rest sometimes LOL!. I was wondering if, when you do your videos, we might get to say hello to Finn in person so to speak, I’d love to see him ‘live’!

    • stampsnlingers

You NEED this TIEF, Sue! It’s goohhh-jus!! 🙂

  6. Such a pretty card! I love the embossed background with this pretty tea pot. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

Thanks so much, Amy – appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  7. Well! Another gorgeous card. The colors are not ones I would have thought to put together, but you used them beautifully. I did watch the entire video. Still don’t know why I was unable to comment.Thought maybe you blacklisted me or something! I think I like the torn one a bit better. Just got my TIEF and anxious to try it. Love the Finn look!

    • stampsnlingers

I liked the torn one, too! Fun how one simple change can change the entire card! And no – didn’t blacklist you. No telling what was happening with FB! Thanks, Julie! 🙂

  8. Heather Heroldt

Beautiful, Mary! I love how you tucked the flowers for this around and behind the teapot, so you could use that lovely full sentiment right in front! Brilliant! Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks very much, Heather! Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
