Happy Saturday, y’all!
Well – last night, at the end of a long and turbulent week, Wayne and I went to dinner with our friends in what has become a routine for us. Not all routines are something to be eagerly anticipated – but this one…definitely is. It’s a nice thing to look forward to each weekend!
Also – did you know that yesterday was – apparently – National Margarita Day? I didn’t until my friend told me – which helped make the dinner decision easier. Mexican it was.
But – they weren’t doing ANYthing special for National Margarita Day.
Mexican. Food. Restaurant. National Margarita Day. Hola?!?
Pero….Nada.
Huh.
Not saying this kept me from having the drink-of-the-day. Cuz I totally did!
Now – my ramblings about my dinner aside, we’ve also got a card – which is, in fact, why you’re here, right? 😉
It’s a clean-and-simple little number, that I made with a sentiment from the Flowing Fountain stamp set with an assist from the new Country Floral Dynamic TIEF and some beautiful Painted Seasons DSP. Take a look-see:
The layout for this one is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
This is a quick one so…buckle up, buttercup!
I started with a Whisper White panel and a small piece of Painted Seasons DSP. I laid the DSP onto the panel to give myself a guide, and stamped the sentiment from Flowing Fountain in Call Me Clover.
Then I ran the Whisper White panel thru the Big Shot in the Country Floral Dynamic TIEF.
I used Liquid Glue – generously to compensate for the rough embossed surface! – to adhere the Painted Seasons DSP panel to the bottom of the Whisper White panel. Then I matted the panel on Call Me Clover.
I wrapped a length of Calypso Coral 3/8″ Satin Ribbon around the panel, covering the seam, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.
With a short length of Gold Metallic Thread, I tied a knot snuggly around the ribbon where I was planning to adhere a bow. That pulls the ribbon down and makes the bow look more real!
I tied that bow from some Calypso Coral 3/8″ Satin Ribbon, adhered it right over the Metallic Thread with a Glue Dot and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped the foliage image from Flowing Fountain in Call Me Clover. Then I colored the leaves with my Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Call Me Clover mat and into my Petal Pink card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Flowing Fountain foliage on the front…
…and some Painted Seasons DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Simple simple! Not my usual style but with the gorgeous Country Floral Dynamic TIEF and Painted Seasons DSP taking center stage – that’s about all that you need to make a beautiful card! Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix
Here’s how you know when a dog has everything.
He’s got about 200 spots to sleep.
And only ONE of them is a dog bed! And even THAT is a Sofa Bolster Bed with Orthopedic Comfort Mattress.

Finn’s sweet and so is your card. No margaritas for this girl and no tequila slammers…tamales, yes…but I can’t find any mexican restaurant around here that serves them. I’m so glad you have a ritual with friends…it’s very important.
It is, Karen – and I know you have yours, too! No margaritas?!? Whaaaaa?!? Thanks much! 🙂
Very pretty card.
Yep, the dog’s got it all. Could point to another one.
I know! Thanks, Mom! 🙂
Such a pretty card! The sentiment is perfect and I love the embossing! 🙂 Poor Finn…look, you’re “making” him sleep all curled up on the nice leather furniture. He must be so miserable. Ha!! 😉
Yep. The abuse is real! Thanks, Amy! 🙂
Pretty card, Mary. I liked the combined DSP and embossing folder. I’ll have to CASE this one.
Thanks very much, Leslie!
It’s a mood thing – right Finn?
Exactly. A spot for every mood! Thanks, Claudia! 🙂
Such a beautiful combination of pretty elements! I love that gorgeous satin ribbon with this card. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
Thanks so much, Amy – it’s gorgeous ribbon!! Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
How pretty this is! That texture is such a wow and I love the bow (I always love a bow!!). So glad to see you this week at FMS!
Thank you, Jen – appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
