Mornin’, y’all! Happy first-day-of-a-maybe?-three-day-weekend! Whoo-hoo!!
I’ve mentioned that, coming on 1 March, we’re going to see the Sale-A-Bration Coordination promotion! This is a great opportunity for you to pick up some framelits that coordinate with some of your favorite Sale-A-Bration stamp sets. Like…the set I used today – Hello Cupcake – to make a sweet birthday card for my little friend who’s turning 5 next week! I also added a few other little goodies, like the Country Floral Dynamic TIEF and some Detailed Birthday Edgelits. Take a look-see:
You already know the Hello Cupcake set – take a peek at the coordinating Call Me Cupcake Framelits (that will be available on 1 March!)
The layout for this one is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
I started by embossing a piece of Whisper White card stock in the new Country Floral Dynamic TIEF – which you can get right now (FREE!) with a $50 purchase (before shipping and tax). I matted it on Petal Pink for the card front.
Then I started making some pastries! I stamped the cupcake holder in Melon Mambo on Whisper White and the frosting (also in Melon Mambo) on Sparkle Glimmer Paper. I even cut a little piece of “cupcake” in So Saffron with the handy die! Stampin’ Up! thought of everything! 🙂
I figured a cake stand and dome would be fun – so I cut the stand die in Petal Pink and the dome die from Vellum card stock. I adhered these to the card front with Liquid Glue. I even cut the little dome topper in Petal Pink!
I figured a little heart pick and some heart sprinkles would be good, so I stamped the pick in Melon Mambo on Petal Pink and cut it out – plus a bunch of little hearts – all with dies from the Call Me Cupcake Framelits!
I used Liquid Glue to assemble the cupcake, added the little hearts and pick and then popped the whole thing onto the dome with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
From my card last weekend, I had a cupcake all cut out from Sparkle Glimmer Paper – it’s cut with the Detailed Birthday Edgelits die. So I used some Liquid Glue to adhere that to a piece of So Saffron paper from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP and fussy cut it. I pulled the die back out to cut a Petal Pink heart and stuck it in place with Liquid Glue. Then I adhered the cupcake to the card front with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I grabbed a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays set and stamped it in Melon Mambo on Whisper White, then fussy cut each word and adhered them with Liquid Glue. And the card front was done!
On the inside, I added a second Itty Bitty Birthdays sentiment in Melon Mambo to a Whisper White panel. Around it I stamped some flowers from Hello Cupcake in Petal Pink and So Saffron.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Petal Pink mat and into my So Saffron card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Hello Cupcake flowers on the front…
…and then I added some more of the Subtles DSP in So Saffron on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! The Hello Cupcake stamp set makes for a delicious card, don’t you think?? The coordinating Call Me Cupcake Framelits are a lot of fun – and really speed up the creative process! If you’re fussy-cutting-adverse…then these are DEFINITELY for you! And – there are sets for several other stamp sets, too! Just wait till they arrive on 1 March! Hope you like! And hope young Scarlett-Melody likes it, too! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix
It’s the time of year when the Jonquils are starting to bloom!
We have a bunch.
Of Jonquil stems and leaves.
Most of them pop up and look great guns and then….nada. No flowers. Just…leaves.
But – last night I spied a few over-achievers!
Finn took a moment to stop and smell the Jonquils!
Apparently they smelled pretty tasty…
SMELL! Smell, Finn – not TASTE!!
Sheesh.

Sweet card and another great Finn pictorial!
Thank you, Gerri! 🙂
Fun card! Love the new cupcake dies, great project to show them off! Hopefully Finn didn’t barf after chomping down the pretty flowers. 😉
I admit I wouldn’t let him have even a taste! I am THAT mean! Thanks, Amy! 🙂
I wondered how that set was going to work. Great display of its talent and yours! Wonderful take on the sketch. Your little buddy will enjoy it, I’m sure. Now, about Finn…he does not realize they are jonquils…he knows they are narcissus…and you know he needs to have a tad of narcissism in his personality.
Yes – he IS a bit of a ham!! Thanks so much, Karen – it’s a fun little set! 🙂
