Stampin’ Up! Stacked Detailed Birthday Cheer!

Morning, guys!  It’s that time of the week again – time to go back to work.

Might I just say…bleh.

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me!  If not, but would like to watch the replay – here ’tis!

I made a fun little card that, with the right inside sentiment, could be for a birthday, or a graduation, or….really anything that is a cause for a celebration!  And it’s courtesy of the Birthday Cheer stamp set and bundled Detailed Birthday Edgelits!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.

And the color scheme is courtesy of the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge.

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock and, using my Stamparatus and the plastic sheet from my dearly-departed Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I lined up and stamped the large sentiment from the Birthday Cheer stamp set in Lovely Lipstick.  Then I matted the panel on Gray Granite for the card front.

I embossed a piece of Whisper White in the new Dot to Dot TIEF.  Then I matted it on Gray Granite and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

To make the cupcakes, I used the die – twice! – in the fun Detailed Birthday Edgelits to cut one from Lovely Lipstick and one from Powder Pink card stock. Then I trimmed out the cupcakes.

I adhered each die cut cupcake to a piece of the same-color card stock with Liquid Glue – then fussy cut around the outline.

I cut one more cupcake edgelit from Sparkle Glimmer Paper.  Using the pieces, I added “frosting”  – I colored the paper with my Powder Pink or Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Write Markers and then adhered them in their matching negative spaces with Liquid Glue.

I did the same with the die cut Lovely Lipstick cherry and heart!

Finally, I used Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the cupcakes to the embossed panel and the card front was done!

On the inside, I didn’t add a sentiment (so I could pick what to use this one for later!).  Instead, I simply added some confetti in Lovely Lipstick and Powder Pink up the side of a Whisper White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Gray Granite mat and into my Lovely Lipstick card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Birthday Cheer confetti up the side of the front…

…and I used some Lovely Lipstick paper from the 2018 – 2020 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love these Detailed Birthday Edgelit die cut shapes, don’t you?  And the fun sentiments from the bundled Birthday Cheer stamp set are really great – and give you tons of options for birthday and celebration cards!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

He cracks me up, my little Man does.

I’ll be sitting in the chair and he comes right up and pants at me.

So – I say…”what do you need?”

And he responds – Every.  Single.  Time…

The upside is that this is one of his cutest faces.

The downside is that I STILL don’t know what he wants.

Just…something, please, Mom?!

What a happy card. I love the cupcakes. Great take on the sketch. Hate I missed it & the meeting–something came up at the last minute.
What a happy face Finn gives you. I love his smile! maybe he’s just sharing his love.

That’s probably it – Aussie-speak for “I just Luuuuuuvee you!” Thanks much, Susan! 🙂

  2. Whose communication skills are lacking here, yours or Finn’s? HA. They do have a way of getting our attention though, even if we don’t understand them.
Watched your video late last night. Sorry I missed the live version. Pretty card and a sure winner. The cupcakes are not my fav, but you used them well.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Julie! Yes – I suspect it’s MY communication problem! 😉

  3. jean maas

I think he is saying” Just take my picture again Mom. I love when you do that and tell all your friends about me.”

    • stampsnlingers

That could well be – he KNOWS he’s a star and he sorta likes the limelight! 🙂

  4. What a cute card! The colors are perfect and I love those stacked cupcakes. Poor Finn…he just wants attention since I know that he hardly gets any. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – he DOES spend most of his life being completely ignored! 🙂 Thanks, Amy! 🙂
