Stampin’ Up! How Sweet It Is Cupcakes for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop.

The color challenge this week shoved me right smack out of my comfort zone!  No Mossy Meadows.  No Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze or Crushed Curry.  Nope.  Quite the opposite.  The colors are bright and candy-sweet.  So…I used the Sweetest Thing stamp set and Hello Cupcake from the Sale-A-Bration flyer.  Take a look-see:

Not colors you’re used to seeing from me, huh?  😉

I started with a striped piece of Coastal Cabana paper from the How Sweet It Is DSP and matted it on Melon Mambo card stock for the card front.

Next up, I matted a second piece of the DSP on Melon Mambo and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I used the big die in the new Doily Builder Thinlits to cut an ice-cream-shop-worthy doily from a piece of Sparkle Glimmer Paper and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

On a separate piece of Whisper White, I stamped the sentiment label outline image from the Sweetest Thing stamp set in Coastal Cabana.  Inside it, I added the sentiment in Melon Mambo.

I cut the sentiment with the matching die in the bundled Jar Of Sweets Framelits – and, while I was at the Big Shot, also cut a Melon Mambo label to use as my mat.

I adhered the sentiment to the Melon Mambo label with Liquid Glue – having it just peek out the top.  Then I popped the matted sentiment onto the doily with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped a Melon Mambo and Coastal Cabana lollipop on Whisper White and cut them with their die.  Then I colored the Melon Mambo sucker with my Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Write Marker.  I adhered them to the sentiment with Liquid Glue.

To finish off the card front, I tied a bow from Coastal Cabana/Granny Apple Green 3/8″ Reversible Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On the inside, I stamped Melon Mambo wrapped candies and Coastal Cabana lollipops from Sweetest Thing across the bottom of a Whisper White panel.  Then I added the perfect sentiment from the Hello Cupcake (SAB) stamp set in Melon Mambo.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Melon Mambo mat and into my Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the candies across the front…

…and then I added some more of the How Sweet It Is DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Not my colors – but I do like how this one turned out!  The Sweetest Thing set is so cute and I love that the Jar of Sweets Framelits let you cut out the little candies!  Hello Cupcake is…FREE!  Oh – and coming on 1 March…will have matching dies!  Finally, let’s not forget that gorgeous Doily Builder doily in the Sparkle Glimmer Paper!  Makes me think of the Ghiradelli ice cream shop at Disney!  Yum!  I hope you like!
